The first 5 minutes of this movie pack quite the punch. Blood, guts, decapitations... this is Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge. This movie has a decent plot and very good action. It was nice to finally see some justice done to this franchise, movie-wise. It was a fun watch, recommend.

We are back with Mortal Kombat Annihilation! Could the start of this movie look any worse? The movie suffers from not having a cohesive plot, good fights, or introducing new characters. It feels like the movie was rushed to be put out without having a finished script. It was the 90's and the video was popular, like super popular. Strike while the iron is hot, as they say.

This movie is hardly a flawless victory, more like a win by default cause the other team didn't show up. We take a look back on a video game adaption that needed a lot more. The plot is thin, it only serves to get us to fights which are not great. Again, how do you have a mature-rated video game and a movie rated pg-13? I want to blame the times but it still happens. We hope that the 2021 reboot will be something to talk about, in a good way.

A movie based on a graphic novel, The Coldest City, AKA Atomic Blonde AKA blue filter activate. Who did what and when? Did this story really happen? The movie moves so fast that you don't get to ask questions but once it is over... well there are a lot of questions.

What do you get when you make a spy thriller and add some jazzy beats? Haywire. This whole movie hinges on a random dear stopping a car causing our hero to get caught. The dear might have a relative that showed up in Tommy Boy. Notice how the movie is hardly mentioned? Yeah, it's hard to talk about.

Peppermint, a movie about a mother's revenge, killing those that took her loved ones away. We think that this plot could have been restructured in some areas to make it different than say...Punisher or Batman. The movie is just okay, not really special, could have been if it had some originality.

We start our next movie set with the theme of a female-driven action/spy thriller. 

AVA...this movie feels like there were two half done scripts laying around, one being a family drama and the other an assassin movie. Combine the two and you get AVA. We found this movie boring and lacking in originality. How do you have such a terrible looking CG grenade?

We finish our first set of four movies that have a common theme with Devil. This was an interesting one. The premise is interesting but the execution is bad. For a movie that has Devil in the title, we could have used a lot more Lucifer. The good(?) name of M. Night could not get this movie where it needed to go.

Arnold plays Jericho Cane, a sweet name by the way, who has lost his family and faith in God. Maybe Satan can turn him around. End of days tries to cash in on the Y2K crazy and add a little devil into the mix. It has lots of Satan, cult people, and a helicopter chase. This movie did not think through some of its ideas, go figure. 

The ultimate battle of good versus evil.

The 9th Gate or AKA Book Detective is a couple of steps above Devour but ends up being confusing. There really is no point in what is going on. There is no ticking clock and no rhyme or reason for the events. Satan just makes it so hard for his/her followers to find and summon him. What's the deal with that? “There's nothing more reliable than a man whose loyalty can be bought for hard cash.”
