JOHNNY CASH: THE REDEMPTION OF AN AMERICAN ICON is a documentary getting a brief theatrical release. It tells how the influential country and folk music singer, songwriter lost his way after becoming addicted to amphetamines, became estranged from his wife and family, and started an affair with country singer June Carter. His crisis of faith reached a lowpoint in 1967 after his wife divorced him. However, he returned to Jesus and became a strong spokesman for the Gospel. Interviews with several music stars, Johnny’s sister and one of his sons, and two pastors complete the movie’s portrayal of Johnny Cash.

NORM GEISLER: NOT QUALIFIED is a 2021 documentary showing around the country about one of the top Christian apologists and scholars in the last two centuries. Norm Geisler wrote more than 100 books defending the Christian faith and the Bible. He became a world-renowned mentor and source of knowledge and wisdom for many people. The movie includes clips of him teaching and of the Christian leaders discussing his influence. It also tells the story of a preacher’s daughter who lost her faith then found it again by interacting with Norman Geisler’s teachings and ministry.

RESISTANCE: 1942 is a well-crafted, captivating story of faith and perseverance set in Nazi-occupied France. Jacques is a French pastor using a radio to give messages of hope to the Resistance. He and his teenage daughter, Juliet, are hiding in an attic from the Nazis with several people, including a Jewish couple. However, the Nazis discover their hiding place, and they’re forced to run. A wealthy banker protects them at his villa, where they pose as his servants. Pastor Jacques continues to broadcast from the villa. However, the Germans are closing in, and everyone’s life is on the line. Tensions rise when the new commandant joins them for dinner, unannounced.

A CHANCE ENOCUNTER is a quirky, sweet romantic drama. Hal goes to Taormina, Italy to inspire him to write poetry. He meets a famous folk singer in the town piazza, where she’s playing her guitar. Josie and Hal connect and encourage each other to write. Josie invites Hal to spend the week at her very large villa so they can focus on writing together, like a writers’ retreat. They build a deeper connection through conversation, though Josie reminds Hal she already has a boyfriend. However, Hal starts having deeper feelings for Josie. Eventually, Josie must decide if she’ll continue with her current rocky relationship or take a chance on Hal.

Airing on the Great American Family Channel, CATERING CHRISTMAS tells a story about how family is what matters most. Carson, a traveling event photographer, is visiting his Aunt Jean for their family foundation’s annual Christmas gala. Molly is a new caterer trying to get her new catering business off the ground. When Molly comes to Aunt Jean’s home to audition, Carson unexpectedly becomes her unofficial sous chef when Molly enlists his assistance. Aunt Jean wants them to work together on the Gala’s menu. Love blossoms, but Carson is reluctant to become more involved with his family’s foundation. Molly helps Carson see, however, what the family foundation means to the town.

BLUEY: Season One is an episodic animated children’s show now showing on Disney Plus. It depicts an Australian cattle puppy’s life and adventures with her family and friends. Viewers experience an authentic depiction of young children as Bluey learns to share with her sister and other valuable lessons. In most of the episodes, Bluey goes too far in playing games or bossing people around, and has to be admonished gently by her sister, friends or parents. Everything works out all right in the end, however.

AN UNLIKELY ANGEL enters at a monumental moment in the life of Janie, a driven, but pregnant creative executive at a large toy company headquartered in New York City. Janie is making the biggest pitch of her career when her water breaks, ending the meeting. So, the biggest pitch of her career could turn out to be the biggest hitch. She prayed just before the meeting, and, as always, God answers prayer, even when the prayer is only two words. As often is the case, the answer Janie gets isn’t quite what she expected.

“Out of Bounds,” the second episode of MIGHTY DUCKS: GAME CHANGERS Season Two on Disney Plus, shows the Mighty Ducks buckle under the weight of high expectations. Stella, Garbage and the crew learn to work together and sort out their differences. The genetically enhanced dogs are travelling the galaxy in search of a new home for humanity. They undergo various adventures along the way. Meanwhile, Captain Stella becomes more and more confident in her abilities to lead the team and make quick decisions in life-or-death situations.

STAR-CROSSED ROMANCE is an engaging, funny romantic comedy on UPtv. Piper is a single mother and Denver’s prestigious sportscaster. However, she prioritizes independence to the detriment of herself and her son. Called into her son’s school because he was fighting with a female student, she meets the girl’s single father, Erik. Sparks flyover whose child is at fault. The principal requires them to give their children more attention. He forces them to work together to stage the school play, a Steampunk version of Shakespeare’s ROMEO AND JULIET.
