“All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others”. Everybody knows the quote, but it’s surprising how few have read the book or seen the movie based on it. We have. Why haven’t you?

Most Disney movies try to teach us something – an important life lesson, as it were. Sometimes it’s quite surface-level, sometimes it’s profound and intelligent. In this week’s movie, we learn that it’s important to have lofty ambitions and avenge your father’s death by performing the death-defying stunt that he died trying to perform.

… Sorry, let me correct that. It’s important to try to perform the death-defying stunt. It doesn’t really matter if you succeed or not, it’s just important that you wanted to and that you probably could have had things turned out differently or something.
