When a book named Rocket Boys gets the anagram treatment when it’s turned into a movie called October Sky, it gets Breki’s attention. When it also turns out to be a lovely coming-of-age movie about a group of boys in the late 1950s who want to build rockets instead of working the coal mines? Well, then you’ve got a movie we want to see.

This is one of those movies where the title seems to be trying to misdirect you. The Strange Love of Martha Ivers. Sure; there is a woman named Martha Ivers in this movie, and there are a lot of strange things about her – but there’s nothing even remotely resembling love.

… maybe that’s the strange thing? That she cannot seem to love?

In the future, things are very much like they are today – only underground, dystopian and everything is white.

There were many patterns in the nineties that only become obvious when you stop and look back on them. One of those patterns was the movie about the guy who dies and then comes back to avenge his death. Darkman is one of those movies.

Two sets of identical twins were born on the same night and in the same little house. One pair belonged to nobility, the other to the lowest of plebs. Naturally, the pairs were mixed up and the parents went home with one of each. That’s how it started. Nobody really knows how it ends, because everybody dies before finishing the sentence.
