With every year that we enter we inch closer to the coming of the Lord. How should a believer approach a new year- The same way we are to live every day. We must live holy lives, set apart unto Christ looking for the coming day of Christ's return. Our expectaion must be the coming eternal state with Christ.

Where does Scripture rank in your life of what is important to you- How should we approach the Scriptures- The king Josiah gives us a clear example of how to respond to the Scripture when the book of the law was found in the temple.

The coming of Jesus is a joyous occasion. Our joy is not dependent on circumstances but on truth of Jesus Christ and our relationship to Him. As Christians we must rejoice this season, and every season of the year, in Gods plan of redemption He fulfilled in the coming of Jesus.

This time of year is full of giving. While we give to others we should never forget the greatest gift ever given. Eternal life through Jesus Christ is the best imaginable gift possible. The gift of God to us should provoke us to give that same message to others.

When the wise men journeyed to see Jesus, what was their intent- They came to worship the King of the Jews. The coming of Jesus into the world is a reason to worhip Him. He is worthy of our worship in this season and in every season of the year.

The Psalmist concludes this Psalm with his continued plea for God's help and deliverance. Throughout this Psalm the word of God has been the foundation to him in his trial. His faithfulness to the word continues.

How important is your private walk with God compared to you outward religious activity- Bro. Dan challenges us to take care of the temple first before the walls.

The Psalmist is in awe of the word of God. Despite his persecution and trouble, his perception of God's word stays the same. God word impacts him and helps him continue to keep it through every circumstance.

Is there hope- Many in this world are hopeless with all the despairs of life. But when Jesus came into the world, so did hope. Jesus is real hope, the kind of hope that is an assurance and confidence.

Thankfulness should be a regular attitude and heart in the Christian. It is good to give thanks to the Lord, for He is good to us beyond measure.
