When a person meets Christ they are changed forever. In this account as Jesus is headed to Jerusalem to accomplish redemption, a blind man calls to Him near Jericho. This blind man's encounter with Jesus would change him forever.

The people of Israel were removed from their land and taken captive by the Babylonians to a place they didn't belong. This was God's judgment on their sin. But God promised to bring them back and He did. They were restored to where they belonged to worship and serve God. Within this text is some practical truth for each Christian to understand in relation to God and His people.

Do we need the mercy of God- Everyone in this world is in desperate need of His mercy. The mercy of God is woven throughout scripture and is part of God's character. God's mercy is abundant and available to all who believe the gospel.

How much has the Lord done for us- His grace to us is greater than we can comprehend. What should be the result of His grace to us- His grace changes us to be fruitful unto Him. Here Isaiah gives a parable to Israel about how God has cared for them as His vineyard but they did not bear His fruit. The same truth is seen in God's people today.

In these last days we know that evil and evil men will grow worse, opposition to the gospel continues and suffering is expected. It is easy to get down with all that happens, but God's people are not defeated. We have victory in Christ and must keep our eyes fixed on the eternal.

Mothers are a tremendous blessing from God. They love their families deeply and do all they can to care for them. In this text we see a mother who cares for her sons but is in a difficult trial that she cannot fix on her own. God performs a miracle for this mother.

Does God's word ever fail- Does it sometimes seem like His word isn't doing what we think it should be doing- If we are not careful we can doubt the promise of God's word to prosper. His word will not return void but will be successful.

What is your duty in life- Is there a purpose to why you exist in this world- What is our purpose- It is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. Solomon does a deep examination of life and gives us a clear conclusion everyone should apply daily.

Have you been forgiven- Is it truly a blessing to be forgiven- David writes Psalm 32 giving us insight into his own experience of forgiveness. Everyone needs forgiveness and it can only be found in Jesus Christ.

We live in a world with much turmoil and trouble. Our peace is so easily stripped away. How can the believer have peace in the midst of a turbulent world- There is peace through prayer as we trust the Lord and yield our anxieties upon Him.
