It is listed on booking.com and hotels.com too, with AI renderings, a new name on the bed skirt, and no mention of a few things you would probably want to know about. Meanwhile Uncle Philly gave away $200 a person at Treasure Island and people stood in line for over eight hours to get it, at midnight, on a Tuesday. Plus Rio Rita's return continues, Circus Circus quietly killed its food court behind garbage bags, Wynn finally put a date on Al Marjan, and the most delicious thing in Las Vegas just got shut down by a neighbor. Lake Mead just hit an all time record low at 1,040.5 feet, breaking the mark set in summer 2022, and it lands right as the federal government cut Nevada's water allocation by 28 percent while California took only 12 percent, which is a rough reward for a state that recycles almost 100 percent of its water. Zoox got federal approval through 2028 and starts charging for robotaxi rides in Las Vegas next week, though they say pricing will be similar to Uber and taxis, which we think is a mistake if they want people to actually try it. Boring quietly opened a Vegas Loop station at Sahara, making it the second property with both a monorail and Loop station, with rides to the airport running about $14. Steve Wynn is coming back to Las Vegas for a talk at the Neon Museum on October 22nd, tracing the origins of the Mirage and how it turned a gambling town into a global entertainment capital, with tickets at $79 and still available as of now. We also dig into MGM's earnings call, where they revealed the Luxor and Excalibur all-inclusive package has booked over 30,000 room nights and that half those customers are brand new to MGM, which raises the obvious question of why they did not offer real value years ago. Bellagio is looking at adding more villas since they only have eight, plus more activation around the lakeside after Carbone Riviera's success, and MGM explained why they picked Park MGM for their locals push. Hoover Dam suddenly closed for emergency repairs with almost no explanation, which is unsettling when road repairs are usually planned years out, and it comes as Lake Mead sits at 1,041 feet, roughly a foot above its all time low, with projections down to 1,009 feet by June 2029. The A's sold off two more slices of the team to fund the ballpark, bringing in Mark Cuban and a group led by Chan Ho Park that includes Ken Jeong, which is about as Vegas as it gets. UNLV's basketball coach also went semi viral suggesting you could buy the Running Rebels for 10 to 12 million instead of the A's, and the school leaned into the joke before walking it back. Hard Rock started its most serious light testing yet on the guitar tower, we look at a great 1991 view from the Mirage toward the volcano, and Golden Gate showed off room 328, a special request only twin bed room that looks a lot like a hostel. Plus Boxabl, the North Las Vegas tiny home maker, went public on the NASDAQ, Club Fortune North opened in the old Poker Palace with a solid renovation, and Bill Krackomberger dropped some genuinely honest advice about gambling that more influencers should be giving.
