The world teaches us to dominate, control, manipulate, and insist our way to the top to be successful. Often, we translate these same twisted teachings into our relationships, becoming that controlling spouse, demanding friend, difficult sibling, or unwanted neighbor or coworker. 😵
As Paul once wrote, “Now I will show you a still more excellent way…” So, let us look to the teachings of Jesus for our understanding of greatness! 🙏

In a world filled with superficial relationships that are traded out and thrown away like disposable utensils, real friendships are often hard to find. 😒
Could we be looking in the wrong places for meaningful relationships? Could we be looking for the wrong types of friendships? Could our entire understanding of authentic connection be somehow off or corrupted? 🤔
In many different ways and variations something like the following has often been said, “We are meant to love people and use things, but we have loved things and used people.” Perhaps this sad truth is true because we have built our relationships on the wrong foundations! 👏

We do a lot of reminiscing this time of year, don’t we? 🤔
The air is thick with nostalgia as we remember times gone by and Christmases past. Childhood memories flood our minds as we take in the sights, sounds, and smells of the season. 🎄
Of course, not all memories are good. Nor do we always remember the good correctly, often seeing our past through either overly idealistic or overly negative lenses.
Healthy and honest reflection, however, is important. It creates a healthier and more fulfilling life in the present. When we remember our past correctly we can live today more faithfully. 🙏
