Aurora has the incredible tale of a crooked cop turned serial killer in El Salvador. After women's screams were reported by a neighbour, authorities paid a visit to Hugo Ernesto Osorio Chavez. A number of bodies were found buried or partially buried on his property. Word is that Chavez ran an immigration scam to find his victims, but is there more to the story? Always.

The murder of Laura Marie Purchase in 1983 was once attributed to notorious Confession Killer, Henry Lee Lucas. But it turned out to be just one of his many false confessions. Angelina is happy to report that thanks to preserved DNA evidence and a dedicated Cold Case Squad in Texas, Laura's real killer, 75-year-old Thomas Elvin Darnell was finally arrested this month -- 38 years after Laura's death.

Amari Nicholson was just two years old when he was murdered by his mother's boyfriend, Terrell Rhodes. Aurora guides us through a story that began as a missing person case, then unfolded into a murder case that eventually even led to a confession and the discovery of a body.

Roger "Fred" Farmer had been missing since November 2019, until his body was recently discovered in a storage unit rented by his son Jeremy Farmer. Jeremy had already been arrested for his father's presumed murder in February of this year. Natalia Smut was stabbed to death in a presumed domestic violence situation by her boyfriend on April 23rd. We had a quick chat with Natalia's sister Vanessa Singh, who spoke of her sister's one-of-a-kind drag performances, and vibrant personality. Natalia is at least the 17th trans person to be murdered already this year in the United States. At a rate of one per week so far, 2021 is shaping up to be the deadliest year ever for the trans community. Aurora connects the dots between the murders of Jaida Peterson and Remy Fennell  in Charlotte, North Carolina. The two were murdered within 11 days of each other; both shot to death in a hotel room, and were at least the 14th and 15th transgender women to be murdered in the US so far in 2021. The men allegedly responsible for the murders of Jaida and Remy have been arrested. Apart from discussing these women's lives, today's episode also touches on the ongoing crisis of violence against the transgender community, and how you can help.

Rossana Delgado was reported missing by her husband Yhony, who has fought tooth and nail to find his wife. But his perseverance was only rewarded with feeling powerless as the local authorities wouldn't take his wife's disappearance seriously until it was too late. Rossana's body was found over 80 miles away in Cherry Log, Georgia, 4 days after her initial disappearance. Now authorities are on the hunt for the 5 people they say are responsible for her presumed murder. Keep an ear out for descriptions of the suspects in this episode, so you can keep an eye out for them out in the world.

19-year-old Sierra Hunter went missing from Anadarko, Oklahoma over two weeks ago, but there is reason to believe she may be in or around Austin, Texas.
Aurora talked to Sierra's sister and former guardian, Chelsey Hunter, about the last phone call she received from her sister, who she believes to be the last person to have seen her, and what she and the private investigator she hired have learned so far about Sierra's disappearance. Angelina talks about a tragic domestic violence situation-turned murder case that happened in Spokane, Washington on Sunday, April 11th. Just two days before, Kassie Dewey had called it off with her boyfriend of about a year, Joshua Phillips.  He responded by attacking Kassie and her 5-year-old daughter, Lilly in their home. Kassie Dewey died from multiple stab wounds, but miraculously Lilly survived and is on the mend in intensive care. Now Kassie's three children are trying to cope with the loss of their mother, and the community is trying to understand how Joshua Phillip's pattern of rage went unnoticed and unreported.

We welcome Eric Carter-Landin to the show to talk about the abuse he and his family endured surrounding the murder of his baby brother back in the 80s, who was responsible for Jacob’s death, and how they have managed to evade the law for all these years!  This dark history plus the shockingly high rate of unsolved or unresolved murders in New Mexico led Eric to create his own podcast about true crime in New Mexico — True Consequences. It also drove him and his mother to fight to have Jacob’s case reopened. And thanks to their hard work, there might be some light at the end of that tunnel.  

We also have unexpected updates to the case of Dianna Brice, whose body was found the same day we shared her missing person story on tiktok. Diana was 4 months pregnant with her boyfriend, Justin Smith’s baby when she was reported missing. Justin — who is suspected of murdering Dianna — is still at large, after his abandoned car was found engulfed in flames in the same area where her body was later discovered.  And we’re only just getting started! The book has been compared to creepy hit novels like Misery and Room, and tells the story of a woman being held captive on a remote farm in the UK. Thanh Dao, or Jane as she is renamed by her captor, was trafficked from her home in Vietnam, abused, and stripped of her identity. But now Jane has discovered she is pregnant, and has resolved to protect her child at all costs.

You may have noticed a whole lot of very similar headlines in recent years about gunmen kidnapping schoolchildren in Nigeria, and you might recall Michelle Obama brought a lot of attention to the Bring Back Our Girls campaign, but what is really happening over there? Why are there so many kidnappings? Are they all connected? Why are the captors targeting schoolchildren? Aurora has answers for all of that and more.

Another mass shooting? But we didn't even get a chance to mention the last major mass shooting! There have been more mass shootings than days so far this year in America. This week an assailant with a modified AR-15 terrorized the patrons of a grocery store in Boulder, Colorado, claiming 10 victims including a responding police officer. Last week a shooter attacked three spas in the Atlanta area, killing 8 people, most of whom were women of Asian descent. Angelina tries to connect all the dots and sum up why U.S. gun laws need to change.
