Fahd Al Binali of IQRA Network joins us today to discuss his role in creating the platform to teach Quran and Islamic studies without children hating either or both. His specific interest in gearing education toward Western audiences is especially important because it focuses on application of these principles in students’ lives. This requires innovatively training and treating instructors in an organized way with accountability on all sides. IQRA fosters the relationship between teachers and students instead of the fear and dread that a lot of us experienced when learning Quran. We certainly didn’t have teachers with such integral preparation to engage Muslim American kids in our childhoods. Uzma’s experience with the platform has been exemplary and her son is busily memorizing Juz ‘Amma, angry at her for not doing so herself. IQRA’s created a monster!
