My Best Friend's Journal episodes

  • ep. 41 | The World Turned Upside Down
This week's episode is a little different because, well, life is a little different at the mo'. Mike is uncharacteristically optimistic, and Cam finds comfort in an unusual place. After the boys debrief on the quickly-changing state of the world, they pivot to some much needed frivolity with a variety of Would You Rathers and crushing on boy bands. Next week's episode will return to the usual journal format.

  • ep. 40 | Feptember Sifth
*DISCLAIMER: This episode was recorded on March 9, 2020, before COVID-19 was declared a national emergency in the States, so forgive us if this one sounds like it was recorded a lifetime ago. It was.*
This week the boys are again outraged by "young people" and their lack of 90's pop knowledge. Macy Gray tries but she stumbles, and a drag queen has to save the day. Mike and Cam discuss d*ck pics (per usual) and female condoms, and in the journal a new cast of characters begins to emerge.

  • ep. 39 | A Menagerie of Fagerie
This week Cam's back to playing dress up and Mike makes a half-hazard [sic] attempt at the English language. Mike reminisces about childhood hip-hop themes and impresses Cam with his podcast rap debut. The boys go on a tear about racist relatives and the sponge-like brains of kids. Grab your life vest because Mike's going on another cruise (in the journal, that is).

  • ep. 38 | Fine Chafes and Cuts
This week Mike shocks Cam with a bare face, and Cam shocks his husband with a chafed inner thigh. The boys share a good laugh over some wicked-gay fan mail from a gaybie. Cam unlearns some bad advice from a fitness "guru," and Mike has some road rage. In the journal Mike is prepping for his next big move.

  • ep. 37 | Growing Up Gay
"Queer people don't grow up as ourselves, we grow up playing a version of ourselves that sacrifices authenticity to minimize humiliation and prejudice." Alexander Leon hit the nail on the head with this quote and the boys discuss it at the top of the show. Things quickly get back on brand when the boys help define a couple of choice phrases. In the journal Mike enjoys some QT with the family while on a brief break between contracts.

  • ep. 36 | A Virginity in Three Parts
Mike finally got around to watching Sex Ed and seems to have learned a thing or two. The boys discuss Snapchat Dick Friends (SDFs), OnlyFans, and the oft-overlooked benefits of the missionary position. In the journal Mike bumps into his very first fling, and the boys recount their first times.
Sorry Mike's mom, this one ain't for you.

  • ep. 35 | Lez Be Honest
Ladies and ladies, Cam just got back from a women-who-rock music festival (or a "lesbian conference," according to Mike) and he's feeling like one of the girls. Drag queens are once again a topic du jour, as Mike dated one and Cam escorted one home from Mexico. In the journal Mike is a little too happy in his current gig.

  • ep. 34 | Three B Cracks
This week's intro brought to you by 1993, when Power Rangers were on their way in and crimpers were on their way out. Cam breaks a promise he made to himself, and Mike refuses to come out of the closet when coaxed. A new segment is born, and the boys coin a new phrase.

  • ep. 33 | The Journey Tendered
It's time to gird your ears again! This intro contains some particularly strong language (even for this podcast). The boys discuss the power of certain choice words and breech a new topic: poppers! In the journal Mike and Mik visit Cic in Europe and bump into a lot of familiar characters. Cam and Mike share some odd Airbnb experiences.
