DJ DOSA has a cool concept where you can win a mixtape made by him that would fit whatever you want him to make you. In this installment someone wanted a "badass female" mix and he delivered. I like this mix because it's different. It's not the usual songs and the concept is refreshing. Finally, this is a mix that can be appreciated by DJ's and their girlfriends, wives and female companions.

I touch a little bit on what I think are the most important things to keep your body happy while DJing nights and traveling all the time. I mention a guy I saw that made me think of how resilient the human body can be. How much should you help other DJs? How much do I help other DJs? How do I have a calendar full of gigs until December... in JUNE?! A great set of questions this week.

I made a mix of how I would play the first 45 minutes of a club. I imagine the club to be top 40 maybe leaning towards hip hop. The mix is based on a club that goes from empty to slowly filling up. There are a lot of variables when opening at a club and the only good way to do it is to be watchful of the flow of the dance floor, tables and bar. Feel free to use it whenever you need. Download link is below.

I recap a talk I had with a friend of mine that really sparked my motivation to push for MORE. I am officially accepting 45 minute mixes to feature on this podcast. Only some will be chosen, listen to see how to get them to me. I read out my schedule for June, come hang out and hear me play music.

A little opener etiquette: Don't quick mix your way through your set. I always ask for feedback and I have no problem hearing good or BAD comments about how I played a room. Do you feel the same? I discuss. When a booker asks you "What's your rate?" what is the best way to move forward? All of that plus shout out to some cities all over the world that have been listening!

When the headliner asks to go on later, what happens? If the manager says "Play whatever the spender wants" what should you do? How do I use working out and fitness? If there are any DJ's out there that have not filed taxes, please do so. They will find you! I also discuss how a formula to figure out if you should change your DJ name if you have been thinking about doing so!

A few episodes ago I uploaded a mix I did for my agent to sell me to bookers who may not have heard me live or know what I do in a club setting. In this episode I am showcasing Graham Funke's version of the same idea. This is a mix he put together at the top of the year to showcase just a fraction his musical styling to bookers who may not know of him.

In this episode I tell a story of being humbled. I also explain how music has led me to meet some really amazing people throughout my career. I answer questions about: DJ lists and how I would make a Top 100 DJ list, paying dues and if you should charge money for any and all work you do.

Part 2 of a conversation with Graham Funke. Why the open format DJ is king. We speak about controllers, CDJs and turntables and going B2B (back to back) with other DJ's. In the intro I answer questions and give my 5 rules for VEGAS opening DJ's.
