Contagious laughter all started in a park in India. What we’re talking about is Laughter Yoga. Not only does laughing as an exercise release stress, but it’s also a cardio workout and tones the ab muscles better than crunches! Done daily, laughing 10 to 15 minutes a day releases a cocktail of feel good hormones, replenishes oxygen throughout the body, lowers cortisol, blood pressure, blood sugar, and acts as a mild antidepressant. There’s even research showing how laughter increases implantation rates for those undergoing IVF treatments trying to have a baby.
The point is, laughter is healing. Who better to guide us than Lauren Tatner, a laughter yoga instructor?
In this episode of My Fertology, she shows us a short series of chuckling exercises to affect body, mind and soul. And because the body doesn’t know the difference between simulated versus spontaneous giggles, we benefit, (even if we’re not in the mood)!
