Christianity describes a vertical relationship between Almighty God and lowly human beings. Yet that God/human relationship is manifested in our horizontal relationships with each other. Simply put, God expects us to share the mercy and grace we receive with those we encounter daily—even the unlovable. We are nurtured and educated to regard ourselves relatively highly. Yet, God views us realistically: “The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked: who can know it? I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins {the mind}, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings” (Jeremiah 17:9-10). Since the heart is deceitful, let us not deceive ourselves! Our righteousness is solely dependent upon God’s redemption plan.

If we read the instruction manual for our motor vehicles, in the same manner some do our Bibles, many of us would put oil in the radiator and transmission fluid in the brake cylinder. Ignoring good instruction always results in catastrophic mistakes. And, because we do not read God's instruction manual, many of us are easily deceived and live in bondage with no hope of deliverance. Consequently, two enormous lies exist in Christianity: 1) salvation is free, and 2) the Christian life does not require suffering. 

Watering the message on "Attributes of the Holy Spirit" (6-29-22), Brother Sam emphasized that when Jesus ascended to his Father, he did not leave us comfortless! Jesus said: "I will pray {that} the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever; even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive" (John 14:16-17). The empowerment of God's Spirit enables us to make the changes necessary to serve our heavenly Father. Nevertheless, "quickening" does not absolve us of human responsibility to serve God faithfully and walk in His ways.

The devil has successfully counterfeited everything God has done. When we sing a course like, "Jesus Fill Me with Your Spirit," demons welcome the opportunity to fulfill the experience we seek. Therefore, we must receive Godly instruction and avoid emotionalism in worship.

Brother Singh coined the term "GENUINE FAKE" to describe the hyper experience many Pentecostals believe is an encounter with the Holy Spirit. But sadly, they are mistaken. To be filled with the Holy Spirit is to be filled with the Spirit of Jesus, reflecting His nature, demeanor, and characteristics.

The Corona-pestilence continues to linger in our nations. So, if the Body of Christ continues to do the things we have always done, we will continue to receive the judgments of God, as He has always done. We cannot afford to rejoice in iniquity! Israel repeatedly made that mistake, and we are not exempt. The mere participation in worship services that God has not ordained is iniquity. And rebellion carries consequences! So, we ask ourselves:  Did we learn anything over the past 28 months? 

Brother John assures us that we stand on a steadfast hope despite the chaos and spiritual darkness manifested as the norm in modern society. We look forward to the return of Jesus. God is fully aware of our trials and struggles, yet at the appointed time, our Lord shall appear. Meanwhile, "there must be a people ready to meet Him." We are blessed to be led by a ministry, anointed by God, to give us "meat in due season." Brother Desmond Singh is a faithful and wise servant whom his Lord has set over his household here in Mississauga and to certain elect worldwide.

David's Psalms expressed an authentic relationship between a man and Almighty God. David was "a man after mine God's heart," we read in Acts 13:22, yet few of us understand exactly why. The answer is found in the same verse: "which shall fulfill all {My} will." And that is the ultimate goal of the elect—to fulfill God's will. In this remarkable Wednesday night lesson, Brother Singh helps us grasp that our language expresses a gradual, lifelong conversion process. From this perspective, we can better understand Jesus' encouraging words spoken to Peter, "I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren." (Luke 22:32)

Historically, "Come out of her, my people" is used as a mantra to set our fellowship apart from apostate religion. God's people are not to be "partakers of {Babylon's} sins so that we do not receive her plagues." (Revelation 18:4) Yet COVID-19 did not discriminate between the godly and the ungodly. Everyone was judged. Undoubtedly, we have misinterpreted the scripture and used it to pass judgment on other denominations. Someone will surely complain, "But our ancestors taught us that." Sometimes, we must re-evaluate concepts our ancestors taught us in a more excellent light! For many years Brother Singh was ridiculed for preaching against the "spirit of the age." Yet, the spirit of the age, "the world," and "Babylon" are one. We all carry traces of a "love for the world" in our fallen nature. Coming out of her is a continual detoxification process.

No amount of persuasion is adequate if we fail to hear the word of God with our hearts and implement it into our daily lifestyle. In many ways, the Christian life is like planting a garden. However, a bountiful yield depends upon the investment of our time, labor, and love spent on our knees. A gardener who remains on his porch admiring the plot allocated for growth will only see the infiltration of weeds and pests choking the life out of the potential of that garden. In the words of Sister Carol, we are our biggest stumbling block (as spiritual gardeners) to producing an abundant life in Christ.

Matthew 24 cautions us to be on guard and not lose focus. Jesus warned, "Take heed that no man deceives you." As the days of Noe were, so shall the coming of the Son of man be.” Life continued as normal, “until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so, shall also the coming of the Son of man be." (Matt. 36-39) Spiritual blindness caused the people to "know not until the flood came." Are we not in similar circumstances today? Even though this generation (2022) is the closest in history to the return of Christ, millions of professing believers "know not." Our minds are spiritually dull from focusing on what society offers. Deceptions come in many forms: political, technological, and religious.
