Monday 24th December 2018
2018 has been a year of surprises. The sentiment was positive until October, when equities started to turn, signs of weakness developed within Europe and trade tensions grew between the US and China. Since then we’ve seen equities wipe out the year’s gains, oil has fallen sharply with OPEC failing to counter it and in Australia the dollar lost ground and we pushed back expectations for rate hikes from the RBA. In this final edition of The Morning Call for the year, Phil Dobbie talks to NAB’s Ray Attrill, Rodrigo Catril and David de Garis about the year we had, and what we can expect in 2019.
We’ll be back in early in the new year. In the meantime, enjoy the holiday season and thanks for listening in 2018.
