This is a new series of shows I will be airing over the coming year to share God’s great story of redemption in so many lives!

Today, I share my story with you. While not outrageous, or probably even much different than many others, my story is very precious to me because of how much God has rescued me from and completely changed me into the woman I am today!

I am hopeful this story will bring encouragement to parents with that child who continues to wander. And I am confident that God will use this story He has woven so delicately over the past 39 years to speak life into someone else who has been searching and wandering. I also discuss my battle with a serious eating disorder so if you know of someone in that same battle, please consider sharing this episode.

While I don’t share any explicit details, there are definitely mature things discussed so please be aware of that when listening if you have very young kids in the room.

Jefferson City, MO. A few years back I read that it was voted the most beautiful small city in America. At the time, I thought that was hilarious! As someone who’s lived in Alaska and Hawaii, I found it comical that a small town in Midwest USA could hold a candle to Denali or Maui! But the more time I spent in JC, the more I began to see this hidden gem for the beauty it really does hold!

And then, I started to get involved with the politics of Jeff City.

Can a place still be beautiful even if the people running it are ugly? How long can beauty survive when beaten with the ugly stick for years? Will that which is good and beautiful ever be able to overcome the evil?

YES! But it takes those willing to step up and say, “enough is enough!” Representative Justin Sparks is that man! Willing to risk his career in politics, Justin understands what is truly important and is a real example of what it means to live out your faith; to do all he can do and then stand. July 5th 2024, history was made! Want to hear my very first show? I can’t believe it’s been 5 months already! I’m so grateful for the opportunity to have this show. I still get nervous preparing for each show, maybe one day I won’t, but I’ve learned so much and gained skills in areas I never would have otherwise.

56. This is how many men risked EVERYTHING to step out and say, “No More!” Are you willing to take that step? Over 2,000 years ago, there was a man who literally gave up everything to give us freedom. Almost 250 years ago there was a group of Patriots who believed that freedom was worth defending. History is rich with stories of men and women who are worth remembering and honoring. For me, learning our history draws me nearer to Christ and encourages me to fight for what He gave to all of us!

The great Bill Federer joins Ike on this special Thanksgiving eve episode to share some much needed truth about the history of our country!

Mexico. It’s always amused me how some people pay to go vacation there while others are running away from it! I realize Mexico is a very diverse place and there is a legitimate reason why someone who lives there might want to leave. But for those of us “privileged Americans” (insert sarcasm) who can go enjoy a nice week or two in the warm sun, it is a welcome change during the cold months of a midwest winter!

Or is it?

What would you do if the Federale (i.e. Mexican National Guard) flagged you down at airport security, pulled you into a room, and proceeded to tell you, “you’re going to jail.” I don’t know about you, but I might freak out! How do you know if you really did something wrong or if they’re just trying to squeeze you? Can you trust the Mexican system to be fair?

Today, JR answers these questions from his unfortunate first-hand experience, almost two years ago. While not an experience he would ever want to relive, it’s amazing to hear how he recognizes God was working through a terrible situation to show him the power of prayer.

Many people (myself included) have grand ideas of “changing the world” or at least making a difference. But do we really have what it takes? When the rain is pouring down, the field is muddy, and your feet keep slipping, will you be the one that raises their hand to get put in the game or be taken out?

I admit, it’s very hard to want to play for a team that I often think acts just like my opponent! But as Melissa wisely reminds me, for right now, there are two teams and one playing field. I can either help my team work its way down a dirty field with the goal of making it to the winning locker room with showers! Or I can take myself out of the game and watch as both teams continue to get dirtier.

Politics, like life, can be very dirty and discouraging. But if those of us who have sat watching for so many years don’t start asking to get put in the game, the same players will continue to play. It’s time for men and women of integrity to rise up and lead their communities to a better field!

I often wonder, if the Founding Fathers were alive today, what they would have to say about the issue of abortion? Would they agree that it’s a states issue? I find it hard to understand why it’s applauded to have a federal amendment against slavery but not abortion. So this leads me to ask…at what point do our inalienable rights begin?

Don’t misunderstand, I am 1,000% against slavery and am grateful for the sacrifice of so many that brought us closer to abolishing it. But is the issue of abortion really that much different? Was slavery worse than abortion?

Why is it that as long as a mother wants the child it would be considered murder to kill her unborn baby but if she doesn’t want it no one should be allowed to tell her she can’t kill it? Can there really be a gray area to this issue? Was there a gray area to slavery? Honestly, it seems like there’s a gray area if it benefits the right people to continue lining their pockets. It was the same with the Southern government leaders who wanted to keep their “states rights” (which by the way is NOT why the south seceded! It was 100% because of slavery). They made their money through slavery…not unlike the abhorrent Planned Parenthood and those associated with its founding (i.e. Margaret Sanger, Madison Grant, etc). Killing babies makes them a lot of money and continues to allow them to control the population of “the lesser race”.

It’s time to wake up America! This is not about women’s health and it never has been.

Sometimes it’s nice to take a little breath from the constant stream of political news and hear from the brave men and women who have made the freedom in our country possible!

Stories from men, women, Air Force, Army…it was such a pleasure and honor to host this show! I hope you will listen in and enjoy them as much as I do!

It’s been a very bittersweet victory for those of us who cherish life in Missouri. While I am grateful for the national consensus that is tired of “leadership” that is absolutely unfit to lead, I am saddened and also confused with the vote to pass Amendment 3: enshrining a right to abortion all 9 months, removal of parent consent for reproductive procedures, removal of liability for those performing these procedures, and transgender surgeries for all ages. While working these past months to fight this evil amendment, the votes are almost a 180* from the consensus I (and those around the state involved heavily in this) was getting-especially in rural areas! Something is not setting well with me (besides the obvious!) and I wonder if others are feeling the same?

I want to encourage you to consider sending your name to your local Central Committee leader (most counties have a Central Committee for Republican and Democrat) to be on the list sent to the County Clerk for the upcoming election(s) in the next 2 years. This is a great way to see first hand what is actually going on in polling places and I highly recommend getting involved in this way! No matter the outcome, we must continue to stay vigilant so we can ensure fair elections at every level!
