  • Before the Last Petal Falls

“This world may be broken, but God isn’t. His plans may not always make sense, but following Him does!”

It was an honor that Brandon and Kirsten allowed me to share their very powerful testimony of God’s great redemption and love in the midst of tragedy. The night before doing this interview, my soul was so heavy because I knew it was going to be the most difficult interview I’ve done. So I dug into the only place that can truly bring me peace: God’s Word; specifically the Psalms. The one the Lord led me to brought me such peace and I felt like it was what I should post here to introduce this beautiful family.

    Psalm 38

“O Lord, rebuke me not in your anger, nor discipline me in your wrath!2 For your arrows have sunk into me, and your hand has come down on me.

3 There is no soundness in my flesh because of your indignation;there is no health in my bones because of my sin.4 For my iniquities have gone over my head; like a heavy burden, they are too heavy for me.

5 My wounds stink and fester because of my foolishness,6 I am utterly bowed down and prostrate; all the day I go about mourning.7 For my sides are filled with burning, and there is no soundness in my flesh.8 I am feeble and crushed; I groan because of the tumult of my heart.

9 O Lord, all my longing is before you; my sighing is not hidden from you.10 My heart throbs; my strength fails me, and the light of my eyes—it also has gone from me.11 My friends and companions stand aloof from my plague, and my nearest kin stand far off.

12 Those who seek my life lay their snares; those who seek my hurt speak of ruin and meditate treachery all day long.

13 But I am like a deaf man; I do not hear, like a mute man who does not open his mouth.14 I have become like a man who does not hear, and in whose mouth are no rebukes.

15 But for you, O Lord, do I wait; it is you, O Lord my God, who will answer.16 For I said, ‘Only let them not rejoice over me, who boast against me when my foot slips!’

17 For I am ready to fall, and my pain is ever before me.18 I confess my iniquity; I am sorry for my sin.19 But my foes are vigorous, they are mighty, and many are those who hate me wrongfully.20 Those who render me evil for good accuse me because I follow after good.

21 Do not forsake me, O Lord! O my God, be not far from me!22 Make haste to help me, O Lord, my salvation!”

While I know everyone’s story is different and there can be different types of tragedies, I also know that there’s no hope like the hope that comes through the salvation of Jesus Christ and that is truly the only hope that we can ALWAYS count on to comfort us in this fallen world.

If you don’t know who Jesus is or if you don’t know what His saving grace is, please reach out to me, I would love to hear your story and share the Jesus that has saved me!

  • What’s going on in Henry County?

When our Founding Fathers designed the greatest form of government ever known to the world at that time, they knew it was necessary to give the power to the people because even the greatest of men can become corrupt and need to be held accountable.

In the small and mostly rural area called Henry County, God used some very difficult situations to draw the people out and begin to change the things that were bent on destroying their community. It is never fun to be squeezed, but often times, that’s really the only way to get people’s attention (myself included!) and thankfully God in His great mercy doesn’t just let us get squeezed and walk away. When we become His children (which only comes through our repentance and acceptance of salvation through Jesus perfect blood being shed) He is faithful to guide us and provide what is needed when it’s needed. I often think of the Israelites in the desert…the manna came when they needed it; not before and not after but right at the perfect time and with the perfect amount! (Exodus 16)

I’m thankful for men like Josiah Town who continue to stand even when being told to sit down and shut up! We need more men like this! Men of valor, integrity, and honor.

If you would like to follow Josiah and stay updated what’s going on in Henry County you can find him on FB at Josiah Town or Conservatives of Henry County MO.

And please consider calling your state Rep and Senator to make sure they’re aware of the dangerous activity happening in Henry County.

  • These Are The Days Of Elijah!

    “Faith is a muscle”.

If you are a true follower of Christ, I think you’ll not only know what this means but you’ll know what it feels like when this muscle is being worked! It’s not usually easy or painless but the reward on the other side is greater than you can ever imagine. This might sound cliche to you, but as someone who’s experienced this kind of muscle work many times in my life, the refining is always worth the fire!

As Elijah and Charlene retell the traumatic story of Elijah’s death, one word keeps going through my mind: mercy. It is only because of God’s great mercy that Elijah is alive and completely well! God’s story meant Elijah was to remain on this earth and it’s easy to see reasons why; family, testimony, etc… But is there more? Why was Elijah saved when others perish? The question I think always comes back to: can we accept that it might never make sense and/or we might never know the reason? Can we trust that God is good even when our “Elijah” isn’t saved?

I’m not sure ‘good’ is the right adjective. Because in my definition of what good is, God isn’t always that. That’s why I believe these miracles are actually showing us God’s mercy; and that is something I know I will never deserve!

“What shall we say then? Is there injustice on God’s part? By no means! For he says to Moses, ‘I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.’ So then it depends not on human will or exertion, but on God, who has mercy.” -Romans 9:14-16

If you do not know the Lord, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me at [email protected], I’d love to share with you the Jesus I know and love!

  • Friend or Foe?

My mindset has changed quite a lot over the past year; things I used to see as “good” have started to raise red flags. People I used to think were trustworthy seem to have ulterior motives that are NOT in the best interest of “We The People”. As my guest wisely points out: there’s a way to read the constitution with a limited government perspective and a way to read it as government is the answer.

I’m surprised at how divided the Republican Party is over this issue. Specifically when it comes to the topic of “Public Safety”. Is it the governments job to protect us? Or is that every individuals responsibility? And if it is the government’s job, are there boundaries they should operate within to protect us? Who decides what the boundaries are? Who decides what/who is a threat?

I would argue, if it is the governments job to protect us, nothing can really be off limits! Privacy would be a circumstantial privilege, not a constitutional right.

But after decades of people relinquishing more and more personal responsibility to the government, I don’t know how well the country could survive without the government coming to “help”.

You decide; are surveillance cameras and drones and shot detectors the answer to feeling safer?

  • Does the state have control over county government?

Growing up, I LOVED the city. Chicago, specifically, was one of my favorite places to visit and I had big dreams of living there one day. I just love the idea of being able to walk wherever you need to go, meeting friends for coffee without planning days in advance since you all live 30+mins from each other, the diversity and extracurricular opportunities, etc…but over the past several years I’ve started to understand the draw to rural life. The space and safety are definitely more ideal for raising a family. But at least we can still visit the city right, right?

Or, have the cities become too dangerous?

Thank goodness the state can step in when the city isn’t policing correctly.

Or should they? If the people elect men and women who make decisions that in turn make the city dangerous, should the people suffer the consequences until they learn to elect better leaders? Or is that too harsh? And will this end up punishing the rest of the state if we leave the cities to their own devices?

Sadly, we’re seeing this played out in not only our state but also in California. Thankfully, the people in CA have eyes that are much more open than ever before and I THINK a change of leadership might be in the works for this beautiful state full of great potential!

But what about good ol’ “red” Missouri? Have the people of STL been squeezed hard enough?

  • Who do they serve?

It’s easy to think your civic duty is going to a polling place once every couple of years. But if that’s all you do, who will hold that elected official accountable for the way they represent you?

For far too long we’ve allowed Missouri Representatives to operate how they want and not according to their constituents. We’ve allowed “Leadership” to become THE voice Reps listen to. There is no fear of God. There is no responsibility to the people. They’ve become a “family” of secrets that they’re bound to keep.

I am the first to admit, I’ve neglected my true civic responsibility for the majority of my voting life. Naively assuming, if someone says they’re a “strong Christian Conservative”, then they’ll do what’s best and right for myself, my family and our state. 2024 showed me how off base that thought process is and how detrimental my lack of responsibility has become.

    NO. MORE.

Join me, this year, in contacting your Representative and Senator more often; good or bad. And let’s stand together in faith that God’s might army will prevail once and for all over the evil that has held our Capitol hostage for far too long!

“Look among the nations and see, wonder and be astounded. For I am doing a work in your days that you would not believe if told.” -Habakkuk 1:5
