The principal Spirit of Dharma. I read this from one of the zen story book. I thought this will help you.

One day one disciple asked his monk master " What is the main spirit of the Dharma ?

Monk master replied "we do no harm to others ; moreover we must propose to do the least good whenever possible".

The answer didn't satisfy the disciple; He replied to monk master, Master is it not so simple ! All three Year old know what you are talking about

Monk master replied as Even if a three year old knows it, an eighty year old is not able to apply these words.

My learning today from this is : The simplest words to explain are sometimes the most difficult to apply. Implementing words of great wisdom requires great wisdom.

"Are we taking care of ourself" ?

Today i feel somehow disturbed after continuous hectic work.

I also realized that no one matters more than i do. I am the only one who is in charge of my own destiny.If I want to do myself a huge favor, then I should always treat myself with kindness and love.

My mother was talking to me in evening while and she slowly started asking me for the past one week whenever i spoke to you you seems to be restless. What happened to you ? Are you alright ?

She also suggested me to take care of me as a first thing by doing any one of activity below.

1. Physical Health : Doing one physical activity where you feel more comfortable and swet out. It can be either walking / slow jogging / running

2. Take Frequent Breaks : Small walk after every 1 hour of desktop work

3. Start a Rewarding Hobby : Just reward yourself if point 1 and 2 happened as listening 5 min of your favorite music

4. Talk Things Out : End of the day talking to one of your family member on what went well / what need to be improved

My question today to all of you is ""Are we taking care of ourself" ?

Today i realized that milk is getting spoiled continuously for the past 3 or 4 days. I analysed and understood that my fridge got dumped with many items. And some of the items are really unwanted and some of the items are already in a stage where next day that might spoil. Milk is always very sensitive item where it will easily get spoiled.

Immediately when i cleaned my fridge i got a question inside my mind as "Am i cleaning my mind like this ?"

Science says one steps below will help for cleansing the mind.

1. Take deep breaths, inhale and exhale. Breathing helps calm the mind.

2. Tears are a natural expression of emotions, and crying is a good mood lifter that also helps to cleanse the mind

3. We cannot change the past but you can shape the present. Stay grounded in the present and shift your focus to things that are within your control.

4. Keep your diet balanced, ensuring your body receives all the nutrients it needs.

5.Start to appreciate you and your environment.

6. A change in physical environment helps rejuvenate the mind and uplifts your spirits. Take a trip.

My question today to all of you is "Are we cleansing our mind on daily / weekly/ minimum monthly once" ?

Thenaliraman stayed in King Krishnadevarayar kingdom. One day while finishing Kingdom court one of the minister asked Thenaliraman when you will get retired because you are getting old?

King noticed this and informed Thenali to ask for it and if thenali is interested king can release him.

Thenaliraman answered to king saying i am fine and i want to interview and select the replacement person for my role. King accepted his request. Thenali got the ring of minister for conducting the challenge.

Thenaliraman announced the challenge as below.

He kept minister's ring in one small wooden box and kept the box inside a very big tank where elephants will drink water.

Many tried this challenge but no one succeeded. King requested

Thenaliraman to finish the challenge.

Thenaliraman very well knew about the way where water will come to this tank. So he opened the water. Since the ring is inside the wooden box when water level raised the wooden box also came to the top of the tank.

Thenaliraman took the box and gave back the ring to the minister.

King was very happy and informed Thenaliraman that for your post you selected yourself. So again join with us. Thenaliraman happily accepted king's request and rejoined in Kingdom.

Today suddenly i realized that i was not at all listening the music while i am doing my day to day activities and was thinking about the reasons

Science says listening to music can have a tremendously relaxing effect on our minds and bodies. Music also can do slowing the pulse and heart rate, lowering blood pressure, and decreasing the levels of stress hormones.

Music has the ability to evoke powerful emotional responses such as chills and thrills in listeners. Positive emotions dominate musical experiences. Pleasurable music may lead to the release of neurotransmitters associated with reward, such as dopamine. Listening to music is an easy way to alter mood or relieve stress

That's perfectly true. When i felt low immediately i will listen a particular song for 2 min and will feel completely changed after that.

My question today to all of you is "Are we relaxing our mind on daily basis ?

Are we careful in handling our food cravings ?

Exploring about deep sleep hours

Are we using minimalism while cooking ?

Mindful eating
