In this special episode of Bartocast, I talk with Nat (Natasha) Gray, singer of The Iron Roses and formerly of Boysetsfire. We discuss personal turning points and developments over the last ten years: coming out as a trans woman, sobriety, therapy, and self-acceptance. From there, the conversation expands to broader social issues: the rise of authoritarian right-wing movements, fear as a political tool, hatred against trans people, the myth of “cancel culture,” and changes within the hardcore scene. An open and sometimes hard conversation about responsibility, privilege, solidarity — and about when dialogue is necessary and when it has to end.
