Nathan Ritterpusch was born in 1976 in Harrisburg Pennsylvania. Since graduating from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 1999, his work has been shown extensively in galleries throughout the US and Europe. Recent solo exhibitions include: Sue Ravitz 57West57 Arts, New York, Galerie Burkhard Eikelmann, (Dusseldorf, Germany); University of Nebraska (Lincoln, NE); and RARE Gallery (New York). He has held residencies at Dada Post in Berlin, Germany (2011), the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts (2010) and Futura Projekts in Prague in the Czech Republic (2008). Nathan currently divides his time between New York and Connecticut
Nathan’s solo show, Old Enough to be My Mother, is up now at Castor Gallery on Manhattan’s lower east side. Brian met up with Nathan there and they spoke about growing up in Pennsylvania, distortion in music and painting, narrative and representation and much more.
