Sustained engagement in work is easy, except when it is not. In the capital projects world, people are forming project team organizations that last from one to five years, with many team members working on other projects during that time-frame. This poses the challenge of designing a project culture that enrolls not only people in collaborative practices, but also their employer organizations. This conversation discusses how some capital projects successfully face the challenge of enrolling people in the design of a collaborative work culture that values continuous improvement, problem solving, and open communication that facilitates coordination across disciplines - and ultimately delivers results far exceeding those of most other capital projects.
