This week we welcome Matti Williams and Nick Schonert a.k.a The Brisket Boks to the pod! We know all about Nick's love for smoking meat from series 1, but joining forces with Matti has taken their social media game to a seriously enviable level.
Hear about their favourite cooks so far, plans for the future as well as some pretty interesting opinions...

Instagram micro-influencers, the power of Globaltic charcoal, London Sunday roasts, and my one attempt at making my own cider.
As always, please leave us a review on your podcasting provider of choice, it really helps us out.

Well here it is, the last episode in Series 1 of Need For Feed! What a series it’s been so far. We’ve been over every subject food has to offer, with some incredible guests. This episode is going to be a celebration of the last few months and some of the conversations we’ve had. Thank you all for your support over the last 4 months, stay safe, eat some bloody good food and I’ll catch you next time. All’t best. Beef.

My guest this week is Kickback Coffee founder, Alex Shaw. In a previous life, Alex played professional rugby with Doncaster, Nottingham and Sale rugby, before starting roasting beans at home in a quite unconventional way. This hobby then snowballed, which has turned into the Kickback Coffee we know today. The Kickback motto is “to hang with friends, adventure and enjoy life”, and as lockdown eases, we are becoming more able to do all of the above. Im looking forward to hearing how Kickback adapted during lockdown, so we’ll move on from this monologue and get stuck into the episode. Enjoy!

Welcome to Need for Feed lockdown special! As lockdown eases and we slowly return to normal life, we reached out to you lovely listeners. You suggested various people who had adapted to lockdown in interesting ways when it came to food, and we have a few of those on the podcast today. Our three guests are:
Eli Serafimovska @serafimouvska @myblack_plate - Our first international guest, Eli joined us from North Macedonia. During lockdown Eli pushed past some insecurities to start her own instagram food page, which is all aimed at showing people that things aren’t always perfect in the instagram food world, but you can be proud of everything you create. And also, don’t be scared to share that with the world.
Our second guest is Neil Clifton @the_neil_clifton - Neil has been posting some incredible foodstuffs on instagram, showing a clear knowledge and talent for cooking, along with some banging photography skills. He also started a website for all those interested in cooking which we get into on the show.
And finally, we have Phil Roberts @brewshackbbq - Phil has been a very busy boy during this period. A food podcast, blogs, an entire cooking competition in the instagram food community, as well as clocking up an astonishing amount of hours on a few video games, but we’ll talk about that later.
I also have to make a few apologies. Clearly heading back into the full time day-job had taken a toll, as I had a technical nightmare in this episode. I missed the first minute or so of the interview with Eli due to a recording issue, and on top of that, I did the entire interview with all 3 guests without plugging my microphone in. So my voice sounds like I’m talking through an intercom, but it's the content that counts I hope!
Enjoy this weeks episode.
This week on the show, I experience the biggest career envy you’ve ever seen as I welcome Kate Ovens to the pod.
Kate rose to fame on social media as she shocked the world in 2015 by taking on a 24oz burger in 20 minutes. Her video went viral thanks to the kind folks at LADBible and her career has gone from strength to strength ever since. Millions of views on YouTube, hundreds of thousands followers on social media, a stint as a full time presenter with LadBible, amongst many other ventures we get into on the show.
Prepare yourself for this one, I may fan boy a little bit. Enjoy!

This week we have a particularly meaty episode. Rob Buchanan had a decorated playing career with Harlequins that spanned over 10 years, including Aviva premiership, challenge cup and LV cup title wins. Unfortunately Rob had to retire recently due to an injury, but he was proactive enough to turn a passion during his playing days, into a post career job meaning that transition has been slightly easier. Now plying his trade as a butcher, we discuss all the intricate details that come with the job, as well as an upbringing you may not expect. Please enjoy this weeks episode, and as always, get in touch @NeedForFeed_Pod if you have any suggestions or feedback.
Good news! Following the link on Rob's instagram (@rob_buchanan91) the following has happened:
"Following a concerted lobbying effort calling for the establishment of a commission on food standards, including a public petition containing more than 1m signatures, the NFU has welcomed the government's decision to set up a Trade and Agriculture Commission to help address the challenges of safeguarding the high production standards of British farmers."
This week I am massively excited to speak to the owner of Cannonball Coffee, Duncan Growcock.
Duncan spent 8 years in the military, in a career that took him all over the world. He began his Cannonball Coffee company in early 2018, which is a high caffeine performance coffee that not only does the job, but tastes great whilst doing it. It's been an essential component of all my lockdown workouts so I’m buzzing to have Duncan on the show. (Not an ad, just a genuine fan!)
We discuss everything from the military ration pack lottery, stink and drinks in Texas, the forming of canonball, and much much more. Enjoy this weeks episode, tag us if you have a listen @NeedForFeed_Pod.

This weeks episode welcomes my good friend, and chef extraordinaire, Gavin Austin. Gav has decades of food industry experience under his belt, and his previous work includes: learning under Gordon Ramsay, head performance chef at Northampton Saints, performance chef at two sporting world cups (of two different sports), performance chef in premiership football and a variety of other bits I’m sure we’ll sink our teeth into. Lets serve this up. Enjoy this weeks episode!
