Sweet dreams are taking over Neon Nights with our back to the 90’s LA BOUCHE Megamix.

La Bouche was founded in 1994 by German record producer & mogul – Frank Farian (same dude behind 70’s disco phenomenon – Boney M & lip synching sensation Milli Vanilli  in Germany. American singer Melanie Thornton and American rapper/singer Lane McCray fronted the act.

The song “Sweet Dreams” had quickly caught the attention of Farian and he later secured the track through his MCI label. The single was released in 1994 and was a pan-European and Australian hit.

It was followed by “Be My Lover” in 1995, which peaked at number one in Germany and Sweden, while also reaching the Top 10 in fourteen European countries. It also peaked at number 27 in 1995 and number 25 in 1996 in the UK Singles Chart when re-issued in that year. “Be my lover” went to number 1 on the U.S. Hot Dance Club Play chart in 1995 and climbed to number 6 on the Hot 100 in early 1996. It was then re-released in the UK and reached a new peak of number 25. 1996 It went on to win the ASCAP award for the “Most Played Song in America”, and sold 6 million copies worldwide. La Bouche went on to become one of the biggest Eurodance groups of the ’90s, with a string of hits worldwide.

Get set to Jack Your Body with our “Steve Silk Hurley Megamix” – created by Costa Lakoumentas for Neon Nights.

Initially developing a strong reputation early on in his career as one of Chicago’s hottest DJ’s, “Silk” became known for his “pioneering “reproduction”, a then new form of remixing, where the original music track is completely replaced with a brand new composition and rhythm track.

Some of his earliest remixes, such as “Good Life” by Inner City topped the charts, including Hurley’s solo track “Jack Your Body”, which reached #1 on the U.K.charts for 2 weeks.

Hurley’s ability to musically embellish a song and take it to new dimensions has earned him the well-deserved title as one of the world’s all-time top remixers. This is evident in some of his most prized works, including: Michael Jackson’s ”Jam” and “Remember The Time”, Prince’s “Get Off” & our very own Dannii Minogue’s opus “Baby Love”.

“Silk’s” passion for music does not end, however, with remixes.  His freestyle creativity expands to that of a notably outstanding songwriter / producer, penning most of his chart-topping hits. Hurley has had a pivotal hand in the success of many artists with his writing & production on such projects as CeCe Peniston’s “We Got a Love Thang“, Kym Sims’ “Too Blind To See It” …. & many more.

It’s happenin’ all over again with our “Lonnie Gordon Megamix” – created by Costa Lakoumentas for Neon Nights.

US born & Bronx raised, Lonnie released her first single – a cover of First Choice’s “Let No Man Put Asunder”,  which resulted in a minor club hit.

For her follow up, “Happenin’ All Over Again”, Gordon collaborated with Stock Aitken & Waterman & the results were legendary. The song is rumoured to have been originally written for Donna Summer, but Gordon was offered the track as Summer “never found” the time to get back to London for the recording. The single was released in Jan 90 & it peaked at No. 4 in the UK Singles Chart, and became a huge hit around Europe & Australia.

The planned follow-up single, “How Could He Do This To Me”, was stupidly scrapped (and never released until years later), and the ballad “Beyond Your Wildest Dreams” was released instead.  The single peaked at No. 48 basically killing all momentum to project Lonnie.

Gordon then went on to release her debut album’s title track “If I Have To Stand Alone”, which limped in at No. 68 in the UK resulting in her debut album, to criminally receive a limited release (& to rave reviews) in Europe, Australia and Japan.

Prepare to get down to some SAW Italo House quicker than you say 49ers!
