DANGEROUS MUSE is New York City's electronic rock project. Fronted by songwriter and vocalist, MIKE FUREY, the band's debut single, "The Rejection", caught the attention of record mogul SEYMOUR STEIN in the summer of 2006, who offered Dangerous Muse a deal with SIRE RECORDS. Upon release, their debut three-track digital EP soared to #2 on iTunes dance charts. A music video for the lead single aired on MTV/LOGO and, in its second week, captured the #1 spot on the countdown. This success rallied significant press coverage including the cover of the annual music issue of THE ADVOCATE and a feature in the NEW YORK DAILY NEWS article "Year End Ones to Watch." Over the last few years, Dangerous Muse has released a plethora of highly acclaimed singles and EPs.

I had the pleasure of chatting Mike about his new music, touring with Erasure and what it was like to DANCE WITH MADONNA!

And in an Exclusive to JOY949, on tonight's show we are proud to present the World Premiere of the new Dangerous Muse track Dagger.

I was very fortunate to be able to chat with Sheena Easton, a multi Grammy Award winning Recording Artist with a career spanning several decades. We spoke about her work with Prince, Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers. Sheena opens up about her thoughts on Social Media, her career highlights and her LGBTI fans!

Sheena Easton crashed the big ‘80s and gained worldwide success with hits such as "9 to 5 Morning Train", ‘Modern Girl’ and "For Your Eyes Only" the theme song from the James Bond movie and “We’ve Got Tonight”, her duet with Kenny Rogers. Her later work with Prince also proved a success, spawning "Strut," "Sugar Walls" and "U Got the Look”. She’s a two-time Grammy Award winner, has recorded 16 studio albums - 6 Gold albums and 1 Platinum - and has sold over 20 million records worldwide.

Welcome to Neon Nights show #014 "2 Hour Synthpop Special".

"Sometimes I feel I want to...run away"

As the dust was settling in the late 70's and the punk era was drawing to a close, there was a new sensation beginning to take hold. All over the world Boys & Girls picked up drum machines and synthesizers and created a new sound...

In this weeks show, hosted by yours truly John von Ahlen, I'm lucky to have not one hour, but TWO hours to present you with some of the world's finest synthpop

It was really hard to pick just 2 hours worth of songs, when there is just so much to choose from. I look at all the songs that didn't make the list and I can feel that we will definitely be doing another special again in the future!

I've tried to pick at least one track from some of the pioneers and icons of synthpop. Legends such as Kraftwerk, Yazoo, The Human League and Soft Cell are included. Hopefully you might find a few surprises there. Please send me an email for requests and I'll try my best to play them on future shows.
