The Book of Enoch that addresses the transgressions of these fallen angels. In this context, the verse can be understood as follows:

"You should intercede for men, and not men for you": This part implies that the angels should be advocating on behalf of humanity to the divine realm, rather than the other way around. It suggests that the angels' role is to protect and guide humanity, not to seek favors or assistance from humans.

"Wherefore have ye left the high, holy, and eternal heaven": The verse questions why these angels have abandoned their heavenly abode, which is traditionally considered pure, holy, and everlasting.

"And defiled yourselves with the daughters of men and taken to yourselves wives": This part accuses the angels of descending to Earth and forming improper and unholy relationships with mortal women. This theme is common in various mythologies, where divine or supernatural beings starting earthly families, resulting in the birth of demigods or giants.

"And done like the children of earth, and begotten giants (as your) sons": The verse suggests that these unions between angels and human women have led to the birth of giants. In many mythologies, giants (Nephilim) are often depicted as powerful and potentially malevolent beings, and their existence is seen as a consequence of the transgressions of divine beings.

The Book of Enoch provides an early example of the theme of divine beings, in this case, angels, interacting with humans and creating offspring with extraordinary attributes, such as the Nephilim. Please note these texts are largely mythological and do not represent mainstream belief.

*NOTE: My interpretation of the word “Nephilim” looking at the Hebraic root words “elohim” and “naphal” would mean "fallen beings” or "fallen gods” and not necessarily, “Giants”…
