Nerds With Alcohol Show

It's been three weeks so we figured it was time we explored the Ready Player One movie and explained what we did and didn't like about it. We also finally try the Szechuan Sauce that was gifted to us by a fan of the show. We talk about some of the news that has been released about Star Trek: Discovery season 2. We also discuss this week's release of the latest God of War video game. We finish the episode by setting up our next super powered match up.

This week we welcome Russ back to the Nerd Cave. We talk about the new Solo: A Star Wars Story trailer that dropped this week. Chris gives his early opinion of the video game Far Cry 5. Russ provides his initial thoughts on the movie Ready Player One. We also talk a little bit about the final issue of the comic book "Invincible." We spend a lot of time on our next Civil War style, schoolyard pick em, comic book character team fight, the Mutant Throwdown.

We're keeping things short this week. We talk about the Star Wars Costume exhibit that is traveling around the country. We discuss Chris' initial thoughts on Ready Player One (no spoilers). Then we finish the show off talking about a Marvel Cinematic Universe post shared with us on Facebook. What MCU character belongs to what Hogwart's house?

This week we cover a lot of topics but don't get to in depth on any one. We talk Tomb Raider, Black Panther, Ready Player One, Legion, Avengers: Infinity War, Crimes of Grindelwald, comics, video games, and so much more. We also set up our next super team battle.

This week's show has us creating another super team, this time based on alien characters from the Marvel and DC universes. We also discuss alignment in D&D and whether it is still relevant and usable in games, as well as pulling characters from various media in as examples of certain alignments. We also talk about some new trailers for The Crimes of Grindelwald, Corbra Kai, and Titans.

This week we discuss the newest trailers for the Netflix shows Luke Cage, and Lost in Space. We talk about some of our favorite older (pre-90's) sci-fi TV shows. The biggest topic of the week is our review, with spoilers, of Marvel's Black Panther. We finish the show off by setting up our next super team matchup.

This week we talk about the news that one of our favorite writer/directors, Kevin Smith, had a massive heart attack. Luckily, he is going to be ok. We discuss his movies and how he was one of our inspirations for this podcast. We also tackle our Magical Super Teams this week. We put them together and let you, the listener, decide which team would win in a battle. We also touch on the latest Ready Player One trailer, US Men's Curling Gold, and the Buffy the Vampire Slayer comic book.

This week we talk about Black Panther's opening weekend (spoiler free). We discuss the new movie Annihilation opening this coming weekend, as well as the strange international distribution plan the studio is using. We get into Ash vs Evil Dead a bit, with their season 3 premier coming up. We also give our comic book movie Mt Rushmore (top 4 comic book movies). To wrap things up we set up the rules for our next super team showdown.

This week we begin our new segment of creating our ultimate super teams. Our first week we invoke Edna's rule "No capes!" along with a few other rules for the teams. We also talk about the latest trailer for Deadpool 2, Black Panther opening this week, the Olympics, and so much more as we ramble on about all things nerdy.

This week we talk about the new movie trailers that were released during the Super Bowl as well as the days following it, including Solo: A Star Wars Story and Avengers: Infinity War. We get into the summer movie release list as well. We discuss space travel and the launch of the Rocket X Falcon Heavy. We set the rules for our first super team competition, as proposed by one of our listeners, and will present our teams next episode.
