"We know everything else fails and we still use it. Yet the scripture tells us that Jesus never fails. He was perfect. He (Jesus) managed to run the gauntlet of life without ever messing up. He has never let anyone down. He is a perfect foundation that will never crack."

Pastor Scott Greer shares the sermon message from Ephesians 2:1-10

God has invested in us and He expects a return on that investment. Ephesians begins with what God has done. Not something that we have fixed. As we grasp that concept about what He has done, it changes who we are and how we live in our culture. We didn't choose God. God chose us.

The peace that we have in Jesus Christ is that it doesn't matter what is going on in culture, it doesn't matter what else is happening. It means that we have a peace in Jesus Christ. This peace comes from doing what God has called us to do and living in a way that honors Him.

It's all about God. He gives us our identity. He gives us our significance. He marks our hearts.

Pastor Scott Greer shares the message from Jonah 3, "Reluctant Obedience".

God gives Jonah a second chance. The Ninevites had a second chance, and so do we. God is looking for our hearts and for our obedience, even in our doubts. Don't believe the lie that your sin is so bad that God couldn't possibly forgive you. God's grace is greater than all of our sin and offered to each one of us. 

God offers grace. God is just. God has compassion.

"When God has us do things that are outside of our comfort zone, it's then that He alone that gets the credit. When God takes you way outside of what it is that you're familiar with, that's also when He grows you the most. Each one of us have natural gifts or talents, but God doesn't just want us to rest there. God wants you to continue to grow. God wants you to be stretched. God can do anything through you." Pastor Scott Greer kicks off our "Swallowed Up" sermon series by sharing the message from Jonah 1. "When we follow Christ, it costs us everything." Following God isn't a "part-time" kind of thing. It's not a "pick-and-choose kind of thing". It's a whole life kind of thing. Jonah was swallowed up with his fears of obedience. May we live a continual life of choosing to obey God.
