New Horizons

In this episode we hear again from Rikki Chaplin, advocacy officer with Blind Citizens Australia.  Hear the latest on the Taxi Transport Subsidy Scheme, assistive technology purchasing through the NDIS, and an interesting  workshop at the upcoming BCA convention.

In this week's programme we speak with a man who has been involved in the Australian recording industry for over 40 years now.  Recently he was inducted into the Country Music Hands of Fame, in Tamworth.  Ross McGregor talks about some of the techniques he has picked up for recording as a blind person, and some of the changes faced by the industry over his long career.

In this, the first official New Horizons for 2019, we hear from Janene Sadu, president of the National Womens' branch of Blind Citizens Australia.  Janene tells us of the nominations process for the Dianna Braun Aspirations award, where Womens' branch members have the opportunity to nominate a woman who has made a significant contribution to the work of the branch, or BCA generally.  As well, she updates us on some upcoming teleconferences.
