Jesus told His disciples, "I am the vine, you are the branches," right before the cross, when one betrayed Him, another would deny Him, and the rest would scatter. Pastor Dale shows what that picture means for our lives and asks each of us whether we are fruitful or unfruitful.
1. Jesus is the true source of life, and we are judged by our relationship to the vine.
2. The Father removes branches that do not bear fruit, so we should take that warning seriously.
3. The Father prunes fruitful branches so they bear even more, and fruitful Christians are not perfect Christians.
4. A fruitful Christian has a burden for lost souls.
