02. We have an enemy

01. Faith Is Essential
Hebrews 11:1-2 The fundamental fact of existence is that this trust in God, this faith, is the firm foundation under everything that makes life worth living. It’s our handle on what we can’t see. The act of faith is what distinguished our ancestors, set them above the crowd.
Hebrews 11:6 without faith it is impossible to please God
Luke 12:32 “It is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
What pleases God is you being pleased!
Faith is based on living your life and speaking based on things that you cannot see.
2 Corinthians 5:7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.
sight = the external or outward appearance
Don’t naturalize, because when you naturalize you see with natural eyes and you believe natural lies.
We have to choose to spiritualize, to see things through spiritual eyes (God’s Word)
And to spiritualize you have to verbalize (speak) so your natural eyes will see what your spiritual eyes have verbalized.
We don’t see and say, we say and see.
02. Faith Comes By Hearing
Romans 10:17 faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.
03. Faith Is Released By Speaking
Mark 11:22-23 So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. 23 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.
You can’t really believe something unless you say it.
Mark 5:25-34 Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years, 26 and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse. 27 When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment. 28 For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.” 29 Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction. 30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that power had gone out of Him, turned around in the crowd and said, “Who touched My clothes?” 31 But His disciples said to Him, “You see the multitude thronging You, and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’ ” 32 And He looked around to see her who had done this thing. 33 But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell down before Him and told Him the whole truth. 34 And He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.”
Matthew 12:36 But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.
idle = non productive, non producing, useless, non building.
Mark 9:23 If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”
Your believing affects your receiving and your speaking affects your believing
04. Words Of Faith Are Powerful
Matthew 8:5-10 Now when Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, pleading with Him, 6 saying, “Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, dreadfully tormented.” 7 And Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him.” 8 The centurion answered and said, “Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed. 9 For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” 10 When Jesus heard it, He marveled, and said to those who followed, “Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!”

Colossians 3:17 And whatever you do or SAY, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.
John 6:63 The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
We represent Jesus when we speak SPIRIT AND LIFE.
1 Corinthians 12:1 Brothers and sisters, I don’t want there to be any misunderstanding concerning spiritual gifts.
1 Corinthians 12:7 The evidence of the Spirit’s presence is given to each person for the common good of everyone.
1 Corinthians 8-11 The Spirit gives one person the ability to speak with wisdom. The same Spirit gives another person the ability to speak with knowledge. To another person the same Spirit gives courageous faith. To another person the same Spirit gives the ability to heal. Another can work miracles. Another can speak what God has revealed. Another can tell the difference between spirits. Another can speak in different kinds of languages. Another can interpret languages. There is only one Spirit who does all these things by giving what God wants to give to each person.
When we speak spirit we get to:
_Demonstrate the reality of an unseen God to the world around us.
_Be used by God to build up, encourage, and console God’s family.
Word Of Wisdom is supernatural insight into the mind and plan of God.
1 Samuel 10:1-8 Then Samuel took a flask of oil, poured it on Saul’s head, and kissed him. He said, “Do you see what this means? God has anointed you prince over his people. “This sign will confirm God’s anointing of you as prince over his inheritance: After you leave me today, as you get closer to your home country of Benjamin, you’ll meet two men near Rachel’s Tomb. They’ll say, ‘The donkeys you went to look for are found. Your father has forgotten about the donkeys and is worried about you, wringing his hands—quite beside himself!’ “Leaving there, you’ll arrive at the Oak of Tabor. There you’ll meet three men going up to worship God at Bethel. One will be carrying three young goats, another carrying three sacks of bread, and the third a jug of wine. They’ll say, ‘Hello, how are you?’ and offer you two loaves of bread, which you will accept. “Next, you’ll come to Gibeah of God, where there’s a Philistine garrison. As you approach the town, you’ll run into a bunch of prophets coming down from the shrine, playing harps and tambourines, flutes and drums. And they’ll be prophesying. Before you know it, the Spirit of God will come on you and you’ll be prophesying right along with them. And you’ll be transformed. You’ll be a new person! “When these confirming signs are accomplished, you’ll know that you’re ready: Whatever job you’re given to do, do it. God is with you!”
Word Of Knowledge is given to reveal events or conditions in the past and the present.
Prophecy is a word about the future that shows the plans God has for a person, group, region, business, etc.
1. Be Being Filled
John 1:32-33 Then John testified, “I saw the Holy Spirit descending like a dove from heaven and resting upon him. I didn’t know he was the one, but when God sent me to baptize with water, he told me, ‘The one on whom you see the Spirit descend and rest is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’
2. Be Desiring The Gifts
1 Corinthians 14:1 Pursue [this] love [with eagerness, make it your goal], yet earnestly desire and cultivate the spiritual gifts [to be used by believers for the benefit of the church],

James 3:1-2 My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment. 2 For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body.
James 3:3-5 Indeed, we put bits in horses’ mouths that they may obey us, and we turn their whole body. 4 Look also at ships: although they are so large and are driven by fierce winds, they are turned by a very small rudder wherever the pilot desires. 5 Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles! 6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell.
1. The tongue is disproportionately powerful
Your tongue, your words control the strength and direction of your life.
James 1:26 Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless.
James 3:6-8 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell. 8 But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
2. The tongue is naturally evil
James 3:7-8 For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and creature of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by mankind. 8 But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
3. The tongue is humanly untamable
The tongue is humanly untamable… but it is divinely tameable. And the One who can tame it, is the One who made it.
Exodus 4:10; Luke 12:11; Luke 21:15 for I will give you the right words and such wisdom that none of your opponents will be able to reply or refute you!
James 3:9-12 With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the similitude of God. 10 Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so. 11 Does a spring send forth fresh water and bitter from the same opening? 12 Can a fig tree, my brethren, bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Thus no spring yields both salt water and fresh.
4. The tongue is contrastingly productive
Contrastingly = to exhibit unlikeness on comparison
Deuteronomy 30:19 “I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse.
So choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants,
You have to be willing to submit your words, to God‘s Word.
5. The Word of God is Life
Proverbs 3:1; Proverbs 4:22; John 6:63; Ephesians 6:17
Rhema = the spoken Word Of God uttered by a voice
Hebrews 4:12 For the Word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword,
Revelation 19:15 And out of his mouth goes a sharp [two-edged] sword,
It’s a two-mouthed sword.

II Samuel 20:16-22 Then a wise woman cried out from the city, “Hear, hear! Please say to Joab, ‘Come nearby, that I may speak with you.” 17 When he had come near to her, the woman said, “Are you Joab?” He answered, “I am.” Then she said to him, “Hear the words of your maidservant.” And he answered, “I am listening.” 18 So she spoke, saying, “They used to talk in former times, saying, ‘They shall surely seek guidance at Abel,’and so they would end disputes.
19 I am among the peaceable and faithful in Israel. You seek to destroy a city and a mother in Israel. Why would you swallow up the inheritance of the Lord?”
20 And Joab answered and said, “Far be it from me, that I should swallow up or destroy! 21 That is not so. But a man from the mountains of Ephraim, Sheba the son of Bichri by name, has raised his hand against the king, against David. Deliver him only, and I will depart from the city.”
So the woman said to Joab, “Watch, his head will be thrown to you over the wall.” 22 Then the woman in her wisdom went to all the people. And they cut off the head of Sheba the son of Bichri, and threw it out to Joab. Then he blew a trumpet, and they withdrew from the city, every man to his tent. So Joab returned to the king at Jerusalem.
A Wise Woman Is A Responsible Woman
19 I am among the peaceable and faithful in Israel. You seek to destroy a city and a mother in Israel.
She takes responsibility for her whole nation.
Galatians 6:5 Each of you must take responsibility for doing the creative best you can with your own life.
A Wise Woman Is A Respectful Woman
2 Samuel 20:16 Please say to Joab, ‘Come nearby, that I may speak with you.’”

She honors Godly authority, the leadership in front of her and she honors the position and place God has her in.
2 Samuel 20:19 I am among the peaceable and faithful in Israel.
The wise women aligns herself with peacefulness and faithfulness.
Proverbs 28:20 A faithful person will be richly blessed...
Psalm 101:6 I will approve of those who are faithful to God and will let them live in my palace.
Matthew 5:9 God blesses those who work for peace, for they will be called the children of God.
God blesses the peacemakers, not the troublemakers.
If you will honor authority, God will honor you. If you will respect those that God has placed around you and above you, God will elevate you.
A Wise Woman Is A Ruthless Woman
Maybe the problem has to do with what what you have allowed to take refuge in your life.
God’s not out to get you! He’s out to get the part of your life that’s rebelling against His Word!
Judges 4:20-21 And he said to her, “Stand at the door of the tent, and if any man comes and inquires of you, and says, ‘Is there any man here?’ you shall say, ‘No.” 21 Then Jael, Heber’s wife, took a tent peg and took a hammer in her hand, and went softly to him and drove the peg into his temple, and it went down into the ground; for he was fast asleep and weary. So he died.
