Smoother than a pick-up game in your Jordan 1s is this week's New Theory Radio!
First, host Nav Nanwa welcomes multidisciplinary artist Romana to the show. She is a Canadian-born, South Asian, Toronto-based artist - primarily known for her vibrant works as a painter, installation artist and experience designer. She just released her new single entitled 'Holding Space', so the two of them talk about that, as well they 'theorize' on the importance of identity and why it changes over time.
Then, Nav welcomes Parveen Dhupar who is an Eclectic Philosopher and the Chief Creative Officer for BTI Brand Innovations. One of BTI's big initatives is their '100 People Who Care' platform which focuses on giving back to local charities. We talk to Parveen about this initiative, how it started and how he's continuing it during this pandemic. He also shares a theory on what corporate social responsibility will look like post COVID-19
Lastly, We also continue our five-week look at The Last Dance, which is the documentary series profiling Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls dynasty as they head into their last season. Each week, we'll be breaking down the key happenings and historical events from the two episodes with a brand new guest. On this week's episode we are joined by digital strategist/basketball fanatic Sasha Kalra (formerly of Sportsnet and VICE) to dissect episodes 5 and 6. We talk about Jordan's reputation after a few championships, his gambling issues, and why Delores Jordan is the unsung hero of sneaker culture, when it comes to NIKE and Air Jordan.
