Jalandhar bishop Franco Mulakkal was arrested by kerala police on friday after being questioned for the third day over allegations that he raped a nun for several occassions between 2014 and 2016. Soon after the report of it emerged, the case triggered protests by members of the church throughout Kerala. The allegations against the 54 year old bishop were first made nearly three months ago. Kerala had witnessed a huge public outcry and an unprecedented public protest by five nuns of the victim seeking the bishop's arrest. One year ago journalist and editor Gauri Lankesh was shot dead outside her residence in Rajrajeswari Nagar in Bengaluru. Today, on her first death anniversary, the staff of Lankesh Patrike, is remembering their newsroom leader by relaunching the tabloid with a new name, a new masthead and office. The paper would now be known as Nyaya Patha. Over the last one year, there have been several developments in Lankesh's murder case as well. The latest development was the identification of Lankesh's shooter. According to reports, a Gujarat-based forensic lab has confirmed that someone by the name of Parashuram Waghmare shot and killed Lankesh.
