March, business man, philanthropist, and Author of Paying It Backward to
join the show.
Tony shares his story from a young age, where he grew up in Daytona
Beach, “below the poverty line” and struggled with
issues of racism, abuse and depression.
Tony explains that his education is what saved him
from those daunting times. His hard work and
dedication to learning allowed Tony the
opportunity to attend Howard University and
change his life for the better.
Upon graduating, Tony started off buying his first
car dealership in Hartford, Connecticut and he
never looked back. Tony has gone on to a life of
success which gave him the opportunity to fulfill
his personal pledge of philanthropy.
Tony recently spent his 38th straight year spending Thanksgiving preparing
meals for those less fortunate at one of fifteen different shelters supported
by the Pay it Backward Foundation.

heated discussion about college applications and how the process has
changed drastically over the years.
Lisa is currently helping one of her granddaughters through the process
and explains some of the many options, including Early Action and Early
Decision, that students have when deciding what institution they want
to attend for the next four years.
In a survey put together by
Intelligent.com, “34% of white college
students lied about their race to
improve chances of admission”. It is
important to note that 75% of those
students went on to be accepted by
those universities they applied to.
Now, why is it acceptable in today’s
society to lie about your race in the college application process and
while there are many other students, such as Lisa’s granddaughter, who
are applying legitimately, without lying, to go to their desired college?

Bristol Police Memorial Committee that will
review the many suggestions that have
come from the community to memorialize
all the Bristol Police Officers killed in the
line of duty.
It is important to remember the positive
impact that these officers had on their
communities and that this tragedy will take

Today, host Ann Baldwin and co-host Lisa Nkonoki speak with Brian Foley, former Hartford Deputy Police Chief and state Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection spokesperson.
On the night of Wednesday, October 12, 2022 around 10:30pm, two Bristol police officers lost their lives and a third injured in what seemed to be a normal domestic dispute call. Unfortunately, this was everything but a normal call and because of it, we have lost two great officers, friends and family members. 
Our prayers go out to the families and loved ones of Sgt. Dustin Demonte and Officer Alex Hamzy; as well as to a full recovery for Officer Alec Iurato.
