  • #126 - Mark Metry - "Creating The 2.0 Version of YOU"
NOT A MEMBER OF THE "HYPER CONSCIOUS NATION" YET? @neverquitkid and I were lucky enough to sit down with @markmetry!Although Mark is only 21, he's already founded a Virtual Reality company, interviewed some of the most successful people in the world, been called a prodigy by FORBES and evolved into the 2.0 version of himself. We chatted all about anxiety and fear, how to evolve into the next level of yourself, how Mark overcame being the "shy" kid when he was younger and the changes technology is making in the world.ENJOY!!!https://www.markmetry.com/aboutI was born in Boston, Massachusetts on July 22nd, 1997 as a first-generation immigrant from Egypt. My parents came to the United States in 1996 with a couple hundred bucks in their pocket. At the age of 7, I would go to newspapers and cut out baseball players in the sports section and glue them together with several pieces of paper to emulate real trading cards. In turn, I used the money to buy real baseball & Pokemon cards and cookies to give to his friends.Despite my craftiness and entrepreneurial tendencies, I was labeled as a shy kid and decided to choose fear and not my real potential throughout most of my life. I built up a fair bit of social anxiety, which placed boundaries and prevented me from living the life I actually wanted to live.I got my first job sweeping floors, cleaning tables, and taking orders from customers at my Dad's pizza store. I hustled my way through summers and saved enough money to buy a Laptop and iPhone. From then on I started learning online. I learned how to code, develop and build websites and mobile applications in 2009.I started my own YouTube channel around video games at the age of 13 in 2010. I had a total of 35,000 subscribers and featured games like Call of Duty & Minecraft. Little did I know my content creation marketing skills were being built at a very young age. I founded a Minecraft server at age 15 and it went on to be one of the biggest servers on the planet. I stayed as the creative operations director of PPMC, started in 2013 until 2018, the #1 Pixelmon Minecraft server in the world. As creative director, I grew the company’s website to reach over 10 million users and 10,000 registered premium members. I managed a remote staff team of over 40 talented individuals and directed company growth programs.Founded and operating VU Dream currently (started in Dec. 2016), a growing and innovative virtual and augmented reality marketing & advertising agency based in Boston. VU Dream has worked with dozens of startups, studios, arcades, and other VR/AR businesses to help customers imagine new future realities. VU Dream is responsible for advertising and marketing for many virtual reality & mixed reality companies in the industry in many major cities around the world as well as posting daily content to millions of people online. For fun, I host a Top 100 podcast called Humans 2.0. My show features an innovative and talented guest in every episode available on YouTube, iTunes, Spotify, Google, Stitcher Radio, and iHeart Radio. On the show, Mark converses with Billionaires, New York Times Bestselling authors and world-class human beings like Seth Godin, Ed Mylett, and many others to educate for change in their own lives and upgrade to the Human version 2.0 that is inside all of us.

NOT A MEMBER OF THE "HYPER CONSCIOUS NATION" YET? Visit www.thehyperconsciouspodcast.com to get access to our behind the scenes content, courses, training programs, articles and build your dream team!!! "Success"-the accomplishment of an aim or purpose.-the attainment of popularity or profit. Many people know the actual definition of success, but what does it mean to you?To some people, creating a business means success. To others, having a family, a beautiful house, and a cute dog is the definition of success. Maybe having a successful podcast is yours. We always talk about "reverse engineering success" but in order to do that you first need to define success. What do you want your life to look like? What job do you want to be doing? What impact do you want to be making? Make sure that YOU define what success means to you. Not society, Not your parents, Not your significant other. So what does success look like to you?

NOT A MEMBER OF THE "HYPER CONSCIOUS NATION" YET? Visit www.thehyperconsciouspodcast.com to get access to our behind the scenes content, courses, training programs, articles and build your dream team!!! We got alot of great feedback from you guys when Alan interviewed Kevin for episode #114 so we decided to do an episode where Kevin interviewed Alan!!This was such an interesting episode. At one point, Alan was an alcoholic, drinking almost every night. Fitness wasn't on his radar at all. He was really living life in a downward spiral. If this episode does anything for you, we truly want it to give you hope. Now it looks like Alan has it all together, he's smiling most of the time, always positive, and always trying to get better. But the truth is most people hit rock bottom before they begin their climb to something brighter, something better, a happier place. This episode went very deep, Alan got very vulnerable because if a single one of you is going through what he wen through, maybe this will pull you out of that! If you enjoy this episode or are dealing with anything in your life right now.... please reach out to Kevin @neverquitkid and Alan @Alazaros88 on Instagram!!!

NOT A MEMBER OF THE "HYPER CONSCIOUS NATION" YET? Visit www.thehyperconsciouspodcast.com to get access to our behind the scenes content, courses, training programs, articles and build your dream team!!! Are the habits that you're practicing helping you or hurting you?(Thank you Ji for this episode suggestion!)In this episode we talk all about habits! Your habits literally add up to the way you live your life so it is so important to choose them wisely. If the first cigarette that you smoked collapsed one of your lungs then you'd most likely stop smoking but that's not how it works. You see, good habits are usually much harder to create and they take longer to see results. Bad habits are usually much harder to break, but many time the negative effects can be seen so quickly. If you've listened to this podcast before you know we always talk about the downsides of "comfort." Well a lot of bad habits are created from comfort. Drinking instead of facing your problems, blaming others for mistakes you've made, sleeping in and skipping workouts. Our habits are what bring us closer to our goals or pull us further away. Which habits are you choosing?

NOT A MEMBER OF THE "HYPER CONSCIOUS NATION" YET? Visit www.thehyperconsciouspodcast.com to get access to our behind the scenes content, courses, training programs, articles and build your dream team!!! Identity: the fact of being who or what a person or thing is.Why does identity matter? Well if for your whole life you've considered yourself a shy, quiet person who doesn't like talking to strangers... that has become your identity. You're most likely going to make choices and decisions based off of that identity. The thing is, if you don't want to be shy, if you don't want to be quiet, than the first step you need to make it becoming aware. Maybe you identity as someone who is bad in relationships. Even if you've made mistakes in the past its important not to allow those mistakes to become your identity.... Because you will often act in accordance to what you think your "Identity" would do.This truly is one of the most important things to become aware of because as we've spoken about many times, just because it becomes "normal" it doesnt mean its serving you and going to get you to your goals! What's your identity and more importantly... WHAT DO YOU WANT YOUR IDENTITY TO BE?

Sarah came up with a plan and worked with a unshakable focus for the following year doing every weekend, double and every holiday shift until she could get.She worked endlessly for over a year and a half in two jobs, double shifts, holidays and every weekend shift she could take until she paid off all of her loans and could move debt free to Spain. In 2015 she decided that she was ready for a change and that she wanted to really go out and face her deepest fears. With only a small backpack, she left her place of comfort and set off on a new adventure, but this time completely alone. NOT A MEMBER OF THE "HYPER CONSCIOUS NATION" YET? Visit www.thehyperconsciouspodcast.com to get access to our behind the scenes content, courses, training programs, articles and build your dream team!!! You become who you spend the most time with... So when you feel like you're outgrowing those around you it's important to find people who share common goals, ideas, and beliefs with you. This doesn't mean that you can't spend time with people who aren't chasing the same dreams as you! It just means you need to allocate your time accordingly. Imagine this.... You are really focusing on getting the body of your dreams. Do you think spending time with people who are dieting, exercising, and living a healthy life style will make that goal easier? Absolutely! Do you think hanging out with people who don't share those same goals will bring you closer to that goal or will it actually make it harder to achieve? See, it doesn't mean you're a bad person for feeling like you're outgrowing those around you... Nor does it devalue those people. It just means you're starting to have less in common.Bottom line, it's nothing personal but you most likely will get to your goals MUCH faster if you're spending time with people who also have big goals. How you go about that is ultimately your choice and this episode is meant to help you with that!ENJOY!!

NOT A MEMBER OF THE "HYPER CONSCIOUS NATION" YET? Visit www.thehyperconsciouspodcast.com to get access to our behind the scenes content, courses, training programs, articles and build your dream team!!! Motivation: -the reason or reasons one has for acting or behaving in a particular way.-the general desire or willingness of someone to do something. You'll hear alot of people say "I'm just not motivated." But is that the case?Sometimes it can be really hard to do the things that are difficult, scary, or ones you have no results with yet. When you're sick, the only reason you're "motivated" to go to the doctors is so you can get better. Notice how alot of people feel "motivated" when their wedding is 3 months away and they want to look amazing in the dress or tux they've picked out?So what if instead of thinking about the moment and how you don't feel like doing it... You think about how you'll feel when you don't accomplish your goal? Would that create more of a fire under your butt to do whats necessary to succeed? That's what this episode is all about!ENJOY
