A year ago the NFT space was filled with leaders and project founders who were using an alias and created accounts annomously.   But over the the last 9 months the amount of rug pulls and scams that have taken place has forced that trend to shift with most projects now having at least 1 member of their team doxed with a link to there website or LinkedIn or background.  But the real question is can we trust someone who isn't using the real name and what is the risk or barrier those who prefer to be undoxed taking on when it comes to building trust and within the future of web 3.0.

This is such a fascinating conversation and I can say my opinion has changed on the topic over the last many months while at the same time I'm working hard to not let web 2.0 limitations or constraints be forced upon web 3.0 if they aren't warranted or a requirement for mass adoption and growth within this space.

The beauty of NFTs is there is no one right way of participating yet the reason many get overwhelmed with NFTs is that there is no one right way of doing things.  When it comes to being new to NFTs most focus on what NFT they should buy first but really it all comes down to the type of NFT participation and value you are seeking.  Are you a

Now it might seem pretty straight forward in picking one of these 3 roles but the complexity comes in that in many cases you will have a different role in different NFT projects and in almost all the cases you will be surrounded by others who own that same NFT but have completely different goals and value that they are seeking from this project.  

The magic happens when you stay true to what your goal and value was for getting into a project which might sound easier than you think.  I share in this episode a couple scenarios where I had the strategy and was committed to my goals yet fell victim to others emotions and the overall vibe of the community and ended up making decisions that were ultimately bad or just the opposite of what I had hoped for when getting into the project.

How could I possibly create a podcast that is comparing the creator strategy of web 3.0 to web 2.0 aka circle vs triangle without quoting the "circle of trust".

The funny part in many ways this shift in mindset from creating a creator monetization strategy vs building a creator economy have many connections to the concept of a "circle of trust"

I've discussed the problems around utility in many of the past episodes in regards to what I believe projects can deliver vs which utility is just wishful thinking.  

Interestingly enough the NFT projects that deliver on both projected and actual utility still have a massive problem.  

The problem ties into the fact that most projects don't have a business plan and the web 3.0 world of digital ownership eliminates things like "2-year contracts" or "Grandfather pricing" which leads to a massive problem....

If you have too many unique holders there isn't enough volume of trades and secondary compensation to maintain the project...

If there are too few unique holders the project can be influenced or tanked by one or two bad actors or soiled relationships. 

If you people are holding an NFT because of the utility and that utility is delivered what is the incentive for them holding?

If most of the utility of a project has already been delivered then what is the motivation for new people to jump into the project.

I believe this fall we will see many projects reach their 1 year anniversary and start to realize they have no true plan for empowering superfans and/or welcoming in new fans in a way that they never feel like they are the outsiders while also not alienating those who've been loyal to a project since the start... 

What are your thoughts on this?  How do you think NFT projects can solve for this?  I use Veefriends as an example but even Veefriends only gives 3 years of access to Veecon...  After year three what utility will GaryVee add to keep people around...  I doubt it will be just a 4th Veecon....

Why is it that all the people that are looked at as great innovators and leaders in the past 20 years have the same toxic traits...   How can we change that?  Web 3.0 is about digital ownership and we have the ability to change how and who we support and I believe this will help us move away from these toxic trait requirements for success.   IF you are in a community that you don't like.. Sell your NFT and use that liquidity to find a new one... 

If you don't agree with the leader's tactics then don't follow them or support them or hold their social tokens and move that support to those you align with. 

TOGETHER we can make this world a better place and we can start by simply showing we care for others and going out of our way to let others know that we care!
