Hello and welcome to our weekly NGFP Local Lunch podcast trailer where we provide you, our lovely listeners everything you need to know about Nottingham’s local food heroes and how you can get more involved in our vibrant local food scene!
Local lunch is brought to you by me Shona Munro and me Penney Poyzer of Nottingham Good Food Partnership the go to organisation for sustainable food in our fair city.
We’ve had a 3 week break on the podcast, but we kick off the new decade with Professor David Salt, global thinker and researcher on the future of food. Tune in to hear this fascinating interview which covers deep science as well as David’s love of gardening.
David is very supportive of NGFP so it was a delight to have him on the podcast.
Also featured in this week’s podcast is a news flash about an event next week for local people to get involved with taking place next week on Thursday 16th January, at the Urban Room, Carrington Street. The Wellbeing Design Guide workshop will provide a real life social housing scheme for participants to test design elements that support health and wellbeing, including providing access to nature, food growing spaces and green spaces for people to come together to eat and grow food. The results of the workshop will become live elements of the housing scheme and create an exemplar of good living. To book a free ticket please search for the Wellbeing Design Guide Launch on billetto.co.uk.
Local Lunch today is a gratin of fennel, celeriac and leeks, with a warm side salad of red cabbage, pear and walnut with a pomegranate garnish. Details of the nutrition and recipes can be found on our facebook page simply go to NGFP.
Tune in two part 2 of this episode today and look out for our podcast trailer next week when we will introduce Alex Begg, tree officer for Nottingham City Council.
