Continued conversation about a new poll from Gallup that found national pride in the U.S. has fallen sharply and is increasingly divided along political lines. Only 53% of Americans said they are “extremely” or “very” proud to be American, with Republicans reporting much higher levels of pride than Democrats and independents. The survey also found that younger Americans are significantly less likely than older generations to express strong national pride, highlighting a growing generational divide alongside the political one.

The Trump administration is increasing efforts to crack down on the birth tourism industry following renewed attention to birthright citizenship policies. Birth tourism refers to the practice of foreign nationals traveling to the U.S. to give birth so their children will receive automatic U.S. citizenship, sometimes with assistance from businesses that arrange travel and medical services. The Federation for American Immigration Reform supports stricter visa screening, investigations into birth tourism operations, and broader reforms to birthright citizenship laws, and Dan spoke with FAIR's Director of Investigations, Mateo Forero.

For many people, COVID-19 now feels more like a bad cold, with symptoms such as a sore throat, cough, and fatigue. But for millions of others, the effects don't end when the infection does. Long COVID can cause symptoms that linger, return, or appear months later, sometimes lasting for months or even years. Dan talked with Julie Sullivan of the COVID Recovery Center at Brigham and Women's Hospital about the challenges of Long COVID and the help available for those living with it.

Continued conversation about the U.S. Supreme Court ruling that states may ban transgender girls and women from competing on girls' and women's school sports teams, upholding laws in Idaho and West Virginia. The Court found that these laws do not violate the 14th Amendment or Title IX. The ruling is expected to bolster similar laws in roughly half of U.S. states.

Continued conversation about the U.S. Supreme Court issuing a major ruling in the battle over birthright citizenship, leaving intact the long-standing interpretation of the 14th Amendment's Citizenship Clause. The decision preserves the principle that nearly everyone born on U.S. soil is a U.S. citizen, with only narrow exceptions such as children of foreign diplomats.

Continued conversation about how a poor decision by a New York Knicks fan that was captured on video quickly turned into a fine and the loss of a job. A woman was caught emptying a Knicks-themed city trash can onto the street and walking away with the bin as a souvenir. After the video went viral, 40-year-old Angie Báez returned the trash can, was fined $175 for littering and impeding sanitation operations, and later lost her executive job at JPMorgan Chase. Dan asked whether you've ever been tempted to take a souvenir from a game, concert, or other event and whether any souvenir would be worth losing your job over.
