According to the Boston Globe, Massachusetts has lost 110k residents since the start of the Covid pandemic. What gives? The top reasons for the growing exodus is the cost of living such as the cost of housing, taxes, and childcare, along with the high rate of remote work among other things. Is MA getting too expensive?

To exhibit what President Joe Biden has called America’s “unwavering support” of Ukraine’s war efforts against Russia, Biden secretly traveled to Kyiv and met with President Volodymyr Zelensky, promising to release another $500 million in military aid. The discussion included talk of artillery ammunition, Javelin missiles, and Howitzers, but did not include the advanced arms that Ukraine has asked for in the past. President Biden outlined he felt it was important to physically be in Ukraine around the one-year anniversary of the Russian attack, so there was no question about U.S. support. Dan heard listeners' reaction to the President making an in-person visit to Ukraine.

20th Hour: What Grinds Your Gears? The Complaint Department was Open! Dan wanted to know what’s been getting under your skin lately. The wacky weather? Poor driver etiquette, or just poor drivers!? Those constant robocalls at dinner time, or anytime!? What’s been getting on your nerves?

Don McCasland, Program Director at the Blue Hill Observatory Science Center, joined Dan to talk about ballooning, weather balloons, and shared some interesting facts about balloons being released daily for research and monitoring.

Smart security cameras are great for keeping an eye on your property no matter where you are, but as with all online accounts, they can be hacked. Large data breaches can give hackers access to your login information and unfortunately, over 52% of internet users reuse or modify the same emails and passwords for all their accounts. On top of that, some hackers have made those stolen login credentials available on the internet! Dan brought in Cyber Security Specialist Jonathan Taylor to address concerns and share precautions that should be taken when entering the home security marketplace.

The Bourne and Sagamore bridges are nearly 90 years old and need a serious overhaul. Approximately 5 million visitors travel over these bridges annually to visit Cape Cod and they are vital to the Cape’s economy. A study done in 2019 outlines the need for major reconstruction as these bridges are functionally obsolete. Funding for the project is estimated at $3.98 billion for two new bridges and Congressman Lynch feels the price tag is part of the reason why the request has been denied and stated it could be built closer to half that amount. U.S. Representative Lynch joined Dan to discuss infrastructure, the debt ceiling, China, and more!
