Some trials include the Luigi Mangione trial, who is accused of fatally shooting UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in 2024, the trial (which has not bene set yet) of Tyler Robinson, who is accused of fatally shooting conservative political activist Charlie Kirk, as well as a case closer to home, the case of Kelsey Fitzsimmons, the North Andover police officer who was shot by a colleague last June.

Massachusetts State Auditor Diana DiZoglio continues her legal battle to audit the state Legislature, a measure approved by 72% of voters in 2024. DiZoglio’s office filed a lawsuit this week with the state’s high court to force the Legislature to hand over financial documents as part of an audit into lawmakers' businesses. Additionally, DiZoglio has repeatedly sought approval from Attorney General Andrea Campbell to take the House and Senate to court or to appoint an independent, special assistant attorney general to no avail. We heard listeners' thoughts.

Are you for or against the use of cameras in public spaces? It appears people are divided on the issue. Late last year residents in Cambridge, MA expressed privacy concerns over the use of traffic cameras that collected data, resulting in the city suspending their use of Flock cameras. Yet it was reported that Flock cameras were particularly useful in aiding authorities identifying the Brown University shooter back in December. There is a break in the Nancy Guthrie case; Savannah Guthrie’s mother that disappeared from her home in Arizona. Tuesday the FBI released new images and a video from Nancy Guthrie’s front doorbell camera that shows a masked individual appearing to tamper with the camera at Nancy Guthrie's front door the morning of her disappearance. Authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying the masked individual, who they say was armed. Savannah and her siblings believe their mother is still alive. We discussed the latest in the case.

After a lengthy investigation, prosecutors announced this week four Massachusetts State Police academy instructors have been indicted on involuntary manslaughter charges in the 2024 death of trainee Enrique Delgado-Garcia. Delgado-Garcia died accidentally of blunt-force injuries to the head following a boxing training exercise during the academy. State Police have faced criticism in recent years for what many call a paramilitary style training structure that has left many former recruits hurt. Attorney Louis Aloise, one of the Delgado-Garcia family’s attorneys, joined us to discuss.
