The mastermind behind Wooden Overcoats, David K. Barnes, joins the bad ideas squad once again - first to bring a bad idea of his own to the table and then to discuss our creative processes!

First, David brings us a story about a house whose inexplicable popularity goes hand-in-hand with its rather strange flaw. The team must decide what kind of con story they're going to build around this very suspect construct. After that, we get to have a chat with David about his writing process, his thoughts on effective storytelling, and his insights on how to make comedy work in audio. 

All of that, plus: a bizarre twist, a family's ability to love or connect with each other, several films playing at once in the same screen, reams of painstaking detail, and the shifting of tectonic plates!

Oh, what a day! We’re joined this week by one of our absolute favorites (but we’ll never tell you favorite what), the head writer of Wooden Overcoats, David K. Barnes! 

We completely squander David’s talents, first, in turning the tale of one of the most incompetent thieves we’ve ever seen into one of the strangest heist plans we’ve ever concocted. Then we start a war… kind of, and turn a European military mishap into a game of spin doctors that, of course, spins wildly out of control.

Plus: The Lost Boys gritty reboot, clumsy escape attempts, Hitchcockian suspense, Czech Jean Dujardin, and the strangest variation on the prisoner’s dilemma we’ve ever heard.
