14 I was driving down the road one day and saw a bumper sticker that I believe changed me forever. The bumper sticker said, "Nothing Fails Like Prayer."
I took exception to this immediately and blasted these poor people and when I calmed down I began to wonder why someone would put the sticker on their car?
I began to remember all of the times I prayed and how "I failed" and it got me thinking and put my feet on a path leading me here today.
I want you to listen to this and see if you see yourself in any of these stories.
Matthew 9:37, 38, 10:1
13 The question should never be, Is God Sovereign? The easy answer is yes!
A better question is, Does God control everything in this world?
I believe the Sovereignty of God is a huge topic (no pun intended) and in order to give you a proper answer I need more than one episode and multiple scriptures.
Listen in today and you will find out what I think about the Sovereignty of God.
2 Corinthians 10:3-5
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.
Hebrews 11:6
But without faith is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
Matthew 7:13,14
Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate in difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
Luke 18:8
I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the Earth?
Thank you for stopping by today.
#12 What is the most harmful false belief in the church today? One of the scriptures I use is
Proverbs 25:2 It is the glory of God to conceal a matter. But the glory of kings is to search out a matter.
If you are a king you need to search a matter out. Don't take my word for it, your spouse's word for it or your Pastor's word for it.
You are going to answer to God for your life. Why not start living on purpose with the Bible as your filter?
Now I want to introduce to you what I believe is the most harmful teaching in the Body of Christ. It is the Sovereignty of God. I want to go on the record as publicly declaring God is Sovereign.
How you look at His Sovereignty is the question.
Here is how I define God's Sovereignty- Ruler of all the Universe, Heaven and Earth answering to no one.
God does whatever God wants to do without asking for permission.
The teaching I take issue with is God “controls” everything. If you believe God is controlling everything in your life you must be a king and search out this matter.
believe countless people are lost to the enemy because of this belief. God answers to no one but did He make you get up this morning?
If God controls everything then you are nothing more than Pinnochio and God has the whole world on strings.
If God controls everything where does free will come into play? Why would you decide to do anything in life?
Believe this is how victims are created. God is not the King of victims, He is the King of kings.
Your job is to search out a matter and put your life on it. Isn't that what salvation is all about?
My job is to get you thinking, praying, and searching the Bible for your answers to questions.
In the next episode, I will go deeper into this topic and show you scriptures to back up why I believe you can limit God in your life.
11 This is going to be a reflective and discovery episode. If you are tuning in for the first time, thank you.
The Christian walk is simple, but it isn't easy. If you have ever thought, I'm a Christian, why is this happening to me?
Here are a couple of verses I want you to hear
Matthew 7:13,14
Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.
Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
You will need to battle many false beliefs in your Christian walk, but life being easy after you get saved is not in the Bible.
You could argue it's the exact opposite.
To be successful in any area of your life, you must make up your mind to do something regardless of the cost.
I am going to use this podcast as our example. I'm eleven episodes in, and I've only begun my journey. IF I start comparing myself to other podcasters who have been at this for years, I will fail.
Your Christian walk is the same. We all start as babies in Christ
One more example:
Do you think Jesus ever struggled with life being difficult?
Read Matthew 26: 37-39
And He took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and He began to be sorrowful and deeply distressed.
Then he said to them, "My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death, stay here and watch with Me."
He went a little farther and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, "O my Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.
Jesus had already made up His mind, but the "struggle" is real. There is an incredible power to a made-up mind, and that is what I want you to get out of this lesson today.
#10 Matthew 6:33 is a foundational truth you can anchor your life on today and every day.
Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
In this episode, Greg dives into what it means (and looks like) to live by this scripture.
First, let's define "the kingdom of God" in this passage. I describe it as God's way of doing things.
God's ways are not our ways, nor are His thoughts like our thoughts (see Isaiah 55:8). God's ways are found in the Bible pages, and the Bible will change your life as you apply the lessons found there.
King Solomon's prayer in 2 Chronicles 1:7-12 for wisdom is used as an example of how God's way of doing things differs.
Solomon asks for wisdom, but because he humbled himself before God and truly wanted to help God's people, God saw Solomon's heart and "added" many blessings to him.
Suppose you struggle with fear, doubt, unbelief, or any area in your life. You need to make sure God's word is your foundation.
#9 In today's episode, you will discover the three pillars I will include (at least one pillar) in every lesson.
The first pillar is the Foundation. The only Foundation to build your life on is Christ. The word of God (as you here in every introduction) was with God and was God. Jesus is the Word of God, and you need to build your life on the Bible.
The second pillar is Filter. What do you do with your information? Your five senses are always taking in data, and I want to encourage you to use the Bible as your Filter.
The third pillar is Follow-through. You may have heard you are God's "hands and feet." It would help if you got off of the pew and into the battle for the souls of men.
Foundation, Filter, and Follow-through (one, two, or sometimes all three) will be a part of every podcast.
Thank you for listening.
#8 In this episode, you will discover the "one" thing the Apostle Paul tells you to do.
You will find the verses in Philippians 3:12-14
Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has laid hold of me.
Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead.
I press toward The goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
You already know you have a past and, if you are anything like me, your past is not perfect. An incredible skill to obtain in your Christian walk is to forget your past and move forward in life.
Paul was a zealot for God but used his energy to kill what God was building in the early church. Paul had a past, but he did not let his past stop God's purpose for his life.
If you and I can learn the lesson, it will eliminate an incredible amount of baggage in our lives.
Thank you for listening
#7 To show you there are many ways to look at the word of God. If you can "picture" what God is trying to teach us with His word.
In this episode, I uncover two spiritual beings "hiding" in Psalm 23. In today's lesson, you will find out how I "see" a famous Psalm.
You need to hide the word of God into your heart, but after you have it in you, you need to have it make sense to apply it to your life.
Can you picture two spiritual beings (Goodness and Mercy) following you all the days of your life? God is your Good Shepard leading you through life, but as you throw out seed in your life, you will reap a harvest.
One of the big takeaways for me was two beings are always behind you, helping with the seed you throw down.
Goodness helps the good seed grow, and Mercy is behind you, helping to "spoil the harvest of the bad.
Thank you again for listening.
#6 Did you know the Bible says Christian teachers will be held to a higher standard?
You can read it for yourself in James 3:1
My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment.
The first time I read this scripture I said to myself, "Who would ever want to be a teacher and put themselves in a position to receive stricter judgment?" I decided that day I wouldn't be a teacher.
You and I both know God has a sense of humor and He has given me a "gift" of teaching and I love it. I know who is going to be judging me so I try to make sure everything I teach is Bible-based.
That does not mean I've got it all figured out but I'm going to do my best to represent God's word. I figured out I am going to answer to God so that is my standard. I ask God to help me and when I get something wrong I ask Him for forgiveness.
Now you know my standard, I want to "flex" my teaching muscle on this podcast.
I was reading 2 Peter one morning and I read 2 Perter 3:8 and the verse "jumped out" to me. (As you may have learned in previous lessons this is where I stop and "meditate" on what or why God has pondering this verse)
When I did I started to see the "math" in this verse and knew if I could figure out what "God-Time" looked like it would help me give a better picture of what my time was worth if I spend it on "spiritual" stuff.
It took me about a day to figure out and create the calculator but I thought it was cool and wanted to share it with you.

#5 Welcome to my first "official" podcast episode giving you something besides talking about how I messed up (and how God fixed it anyway).
Here I teach you a simple 5-Step prayer I have used daily for years and how it can help you change your life.
I created this podcast to help you with your Christian walk, and this is a huge set(See what I did there? :-) Christian walk...step... nevermind).
As you listen, you will discover each scripture behind each step and why it's crucial. Even though this is simple, don't let its simplicity fool you. If you commit to using these steps every day, your life will change for the better.
People often ask me how to remain so positive and optimistic with all the hate, fear, gloom, and despair being "dished out" daily. Here is my "secret weapon," and I want to give it to you today.
