Dr.Ken Harris took a step back and observed the city over the last 11 days, his conclusion is that the black community need ls a reset. We have so many preconceived notions, yet we aren’t receiving what’s needed or what we have worked for. Dr.Ken Harris also talks about the naming of Ashanti Hamilton to the Director of Violence Prevention for the city with the question maintaining, what’s the plan? We should reset the preset and start fresh. Shouldn’t the power, prestige, and privilege reside within our community?

There seems to have been a shift that occurred in the 1960’s according to Dr.Ken Harris. In 1968, and not Vietnam. For Dr.Ken Harris and others it was living in Chicago and experiencing the racial conflicts that plagued the city at that time. Redlining wasn’t only for real estate, it also played a part in insurance, economics, job opportunity, food, clothing, etc… So much so that we started to inculcate certain ideals to fit the mold. As much as the city has changed over the years some things still need to be adapted. Not to put a spin on them but to right the wrongs done over time. We can’t accept the idea that we are just a monolith of a city.

Men are apparently lonelier than women according to a national study that was done. But why are men lonelier than before? It sounds depressive. Do you think our generation is so hyper focused on being happy that it’s actually making people sad? Now a days anything can offend anyone at any time. Most people feel threatened and create drama from the most minuscule of scenarios. What can we do to deal with that compounded stress so that we don’t keep taking frustrations out on one another.
