Abby Armour, Director of the Mukwonago Community Library, joins Kristin and Brian to talk about the Native American Artifacts on display in the Red Brick Museum. She talks about her recent trip to California to return artifacts to the Wilton Rancheria tribe. Mukwonago Community Library is the first in Wisconsin and third in the nation to return belongings under a 1990 federal law and her trip to California to do so.

Michael Takach, Board Chairperson, stops by the show to talk about the Wisconsin LGBTQ History Project, the largest digital repository of LGBTQ media in the state. Takach shares how the project has helped document, preserve, and more importantly celebrate the heritage of the LGBTQ community within the state. Takach also elaborates on how the project is participating in pride this year across smaller LGBTQ communities in Wisconsin, fun trivia on some iconic bars in MKE, and the 30th anniversary of pride festival in MKE.

Tony Wilkin Gibart, Executive Director of Midwest Environmental Advocates, Lee Donahue a Campbell, WI Resident and Kayla Furton a Peshtigo, WI resident join Spanning the State to talk about their experiences with PFAS in their communities and how it's affected their health. They share how their podcast Public Trust a new podcast miniseries produced by Midwest Environmental Advocates and Wisconsin Sea Grant, explores Wisconsin’s response to PFAS contamination. The series takes listeners to French Island, the Lac Courte Oreilles (lac COO door RAY) reservation, and Peshtigo, to learn how residents have been affected and what they are doing to secure their rights to clean water.

Kristin and Brian dive deeper into the story of the black superintendent being pushed off stage by a white dad. They explore what the lines are between parents protecting their kids and projecting onto their kids. Later they chat with Secretary of State of Wisconsin, Sarah Godlewski about her role.
