  • Episode 16: Alexandra Weissner, athlete, running coach, podcaster, and co-founder of bRUNch Running
On this episode, meet Alexandra Weissner. Alexandra is an athlete, running coach, podcaster, and co-founder of bRUNch Running. Growing up in New Jersey, Alexandra played a variety of sports from ballet, swimming, soccer and basketball. While watching the 1998 Winter Olympics, she fell in love with the sport of alpine skiing. Having learned to ski at age 5, she already loved being on the mountain but now wanted to do more of it. After a few years of racing on the East Coast, Alexandra persuaded her parents to allow her to move across the country to Steamboat Springs, Colo. to attend boarding school and train with the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club. While her skiing career did not play out as she had dreamed it would, her love for the sport and fitness continued. After graduating from Northern Arizona University, she moved to New York to pursue a career in public relations. In 2010, I moved to Denver to be closer to the mountains. Since moving to Denver, she enjoys many ski days, trained for numerous half marathons, completed two marathons, dabbled in triathlons and paddle boarding. Sports have given Alexandra so much and shaped who she is today.

  • Episode 12: A Quick Thank You
As I close out Season 1 of the show, I want to take the time to thank everyone who has made No Gimmicks Just Sweat a success. Well, at least a success in my eyes.
So what is No Gimmicks Just Sweat? It’s my personal mantra that I have used during my fitness journey over the years. No Gimmicks Just Sweat is a state of mind and a reminder that anything you value is worth putting in the work, staying motivated, and not stopping. It’s about pushing past the point where most people quit and getting inspired to own your life and make the impossible possible.
I want to say thank you to my Season 1 guests who took the time to share their passion, discuss their challenges, and how it has transformed their lives. I started this podcast with the intention of highlighting the accomplishments of ordinary people with different backgrounds coming from all walks of life who simply put in the work to be a successful athlete. Everyone’s story is different. Everyone has a different reason behind their journey. Everyone has a story to tell. I love how the conversations flow freely and cover a variety of topics. Best of all, I love sharing people's stories and being able to help inspire other people with this information. At the end of the day, it’s not about PRs or podiums. It’s about passion and perseverance. Real success takes earning every inch. That’s what No Gimmicks Just Sweat is all about.
And of course, I want to say thank you to all my listeners. There are literally thousands of podcasts to choose from and I know that not everyone is going to love my podcast, and that's okay. While I can't control the popularity of my podcast, I can do my best to make sure people know about my podcast and try to reach listeners who will get the most benefit from my content. So again, thank you for listening and believe me when I say that your support will never be taken for granted. If you like the show please give us a five star rating and review and be sure to tell your friends. This helps get the show up in the rankings and generates the necessary exposure to grow. I’d deeply appreciate it.
So what’s in store for Season 2? More stories from inspirational and insightful athletes who are doing amazing things. My goal is to continue to inspire, empower, and encourage listeners to be their best. Stay tuned for Season 2 coming in mid-August.
