This week we pick up with Part III of American Assassin - the second half of our No Limits LIVE stream recording. We cover Hurley's exploits in Beirut and Rapp's daring antics to break him out of captivity. Stick around to the very end to hear our final ratings of the book and covers, and to hear how Chris barely survived this episode. I'm not kidding, it was a close call...

No Limits went LIVE for this one! Last week Chris and Mike hosted a live stream recording on Facebook of our breakdown of the second half of American Assassin. We went so long we decided to split it into TWO episodes. In this episode, we cover the fallout of Rapp's first-ever kill of Sharif in Instanbul nearly up to the action in Beirut. Tune in next week for our wrap-up of the final chapters of the book along with our winners/losers and cover discussion!

The mean old cuss and the college puke go at it! You know what that means...American Assassin is here! Vince has waited 15 years to tell this story - the origin, selection process, and training of twenty-three-year-old Mitch Rapp. The opening sequence at the farmhouse in Lake Anna, Virginia is an absolute masterpiece as Mitch, Irene, Doc Lewis, Stansfield, and Victor among others descend upon Hurley's domain. Get ready for fireworks.

While last week we chatted with a real-life Marcus Dumond, today we chat with Rob Richer - the man Vince Flynn himself called "the soul of Mitch Rapp". In fact, the character Rob Ridley is modeled after him! During his 35 years in the CIA Rob served in roles from Chief of Station and Chief of the Near East Division all the way up to Associate Deputy Director of Operations. It was during this time that he was tapped to be the CIA's contact for an inquiring author from Minnesota - thus beginning a lifelong friendship with Vince Flynn. I guess you could say that we have Rob to thank for the incredible research, personalities, and all-too-real insider information Vince was able to capture in his stories.

I still cannot believe we found him...the real Marcus Dumond! Seriously. Hacking financial institutions, stealing their money, and eavesdropping on ships and security details. All FOR the US government. According to his website, over the past twenty-five years, Matt Devost "has emerged as an established thought leader in the cyber and security domains. Matt’s unique approach to technology, business, and security issues is driven by a technique he calls “HACKthink” – applying a hacker mindset to analyze and dissect complex problems and develop innovative solutions."
