Well this is another first for the No Outlet Podcast! We have one of the original Pioneers of the Hemp movement on the show! I was lucky enough to own and operate a Hemp company in the early 90s and I remember meeting our guest at a Trade Show in NYC and his company was one of what I consider the original 5 hemp companies and I was so impressed with how far they had taken the idea and it was really motivating. Over the next 5 years until I sold my company, I continued to be impressed with where they took the company! We talked about how Hemp can Save the planet, How Greed is responsible for Hemp being put in a corner for 60 years, The current sate of the Hemp movement, the best Hemp products he has ever seen, seeing Van Halen and Black Sabbath in concert and how people can get involved with the Hemp movement along with many other topics! Please check out https://www.votehemp.com/ and find out how you get make a difference! Big thank you to a true Hemp industry pioneer Eric Steenstra for being on the show, I hope you all enjoy the conversation as much as we did!
What a treat for all of our listeners! Live from Down Under Nicole explains to us what it is like to grow up in a country that is home to deadly snakes and spiders, we learn that she is a WORLD CLASS cat owner who puts her money where her ailing cat needs it, the pressures of growing up in the digital age, seeking (and finding!) a certain American Bloke, her trip to Disneyland as a young child, how she has never met a rude or unfriendly American...that one is hard to believe...how American men have lots of passion and manners (GO JOHN!), the complexities of the health care systems and why she loves a certain Portsmouth NH restaurant so much along with many other topics! If you ever wanted to truly understand how Australians view Americans and what makes them proud (and embarrassed!) of their country then this episode is worth a listen! She was such a good guest and was nice enough to speak with me early AM on a Sunday...thank you so much for being one the show Nicole! I hope you all enjoy this fun conversation as much as we did!
No big deal, just the person who was part of the largest animal rescue in history, right here on the No Outlet podcast! Plus, it's another first for the show, the first person who has given a Real Ted Talk AND the first animal expert on the show. We met right before Covid really messed things up in an improv class that started off as a in person class and was converted to an Online class. I remember her being smart and funny and I knew she was into Penguins, but I DID NOT realize the was THE Penguin lady. But I know now, and was very fortunate to have her on the show...the one and only penguin lady Dyan deNapoli! We talked about reincarnation (its real), saving 40,000 penguins (obvi), going to Antarctica several times, the unfair characterization of Penguins in Batman comics (people remember), Brutal Mating rituals of Penguins, getting attacked by a penguin that you are trying to save, the catchy New England Aquarium TV spot and many other topics...some not even about Penguins! In all sincerity, the devotion that she has to helping this animal is really special and I would highly recommend that you check out her website: https://thepenguinlady.com/ she was a great guest and I really appreciate her joining the program. I hope you all enjoy the conversation as much as we did!
Wow. Sometimes a guest defies expectations and this was one of those times. What a show this is folks, I have known this guest for about 30 years, we went to college together and were in the same fraternity, went to a few dead shows, rolling stones concerts, a few red sox games and some weddings and several other events. We have had a lot of fun together and he is a pro at it. He’s an instant party…always smiling, ready for a laugh but also able to have a serious talk and he is a HUGE fan of music all around great guy who has become quite successful in his field so I hope I don’t fuck that up here! We talked about people ceasing to be normal ever again, poor LED sign technology, hanging with Jackson Browne after a night of him playing Dylan covers, lizard people (they are real and CANNOT walk through walls), wrestling for food, cool college professors, summering in the Seacoast area of New Hampshire, Banging out 600 pushups, Living in Australia, and a step by step plan on how to poise yourself to be nasty among many other topics. He ever throws two questions my way that I WAS NOT prepared for...well played Mr. Marcello. What a blast this episode was...really had a good time and I hope you all enjoy the conversation as much as we did!
Another record! Longest episode yet and it could have gone longer! I have known this guest for about 20 years, we worked together at PC Connection, played pick up Basketball at 7am each Wednesday for close to two years, been in a fantasy football league together and what I can tell you with 100% certainty is that this guy is as genuine as they come. There’s no put on with him at all and he will share his opinion without making you feel like yours is invalid. Funny in an understated way, big sports fan, music fan and all around good guy. We talked about Aliens being among us (waiting to either harvest our organs or just taking over the gene pool), The unrealized greatness of David Njoku, having a 13 shoe broker in the family, the stark reality of fake Pats fans, a very forgettable 90 yard eagle chip-in, the struggles of a B- Mustache, good music (live and streaming), and faking phone calls to keep a job among many other topics. Plus...we make Josh do push-ups at the end, great times on the No Outlet Podcast! It was great to spend some time chatting with Josh and the time literally flew by, thanks for being on the show and I hope you all enjoyed the conversation as much as we did!
Welcome to a new feature on the No Outlet Podcast..."Can we please stop..." where we tackle the most important issues facing us as a society today. Up first, we try to defend all humans from a threat that we consider to be among the most serious and egregious offenses happening on a regular basis. This will take a complete group effort and we here at the no outlet podcast implore you, our listeners, to help us collectively stop the scourge that is the Jeep Wave. It's gone on far too long and it really needs to be stopped for the betterment of humanity. If not stopped now and left unchecked, the damage from this devious and ridiculous habit may be beyond anything that anyone can imagine. So, please, listen to this public service announcement and do your part to stop the Jeep Wave. The future of our collective dignity depends on it. We appreciate your help and continued support. Sincerely, The No Outlet Podcast.
It's 4/20 my friends...behold, the majestic Cannabis plant! We are all witnessing a great re-awaking for one of the most beautiful, useful, and maligned plants in the history of the planet. Obviously, I am talking about Cannabis and our guest tonight is a warrior in the fight to bring the amazing plant back to the level of acceptance and availability that it deserves. He is a busy man with a lot going on and we really appreciate him being on the show! We discussed Karma (don't steal gum kids), The importance of Organic Cannabis, the complexities of owning the largest cannabis greenhouse in Maine, why machine trimmed flower is like when surfers smash their weed before smoking, memories of Watermonkey, the failure of the DARE program and choosing apples over sushi for the kids among many other topics and memories. In fact, I may have learned more on this episode than I have on any other episode. Highly recommend to everyone that you go check out sweetdirt.com and see what this amazing company is up to. Thanks again Hughes for coming on the show, I hope you all enjoy the conversation as much as I did!
What a life this guy has led and he is still a young chap! Very special guest on the show and we were so glad to have him. Bob is someone I was lucky enough to meet at an improv class in January of 2020…we were able to finish the class (in person) before the world melted and even had planned to do a play together...shout out to the "String of pearls" crew!...but those plans were altered as well like so many others. He was such a cool guy with a great sense of humor and a lot of really interesting life experiences…then I found out that he was also a reggae fan I knew then that we would get along great. Irie. When I started the podcast I knew he would be a good guest and now we know for sure that he would be! We talk about the possibility of Time Travel, Being Brad Pitts apartment buddy (and beating him out for a part!), kicking Spuds Mackenzie out of the Beer advertising spotlight, The genius of Monty Python, why sushi is the perfect choice for a deserted island food, Hanging out with America's sweetheart Meg Ryan and the art of taking a soap opera seriously as an actor among many other topics and stories from Bob! So much fun to have on the show, thank you for joining the Podcast and I am looking forward to proper cocktails in Portsmouth this summer...maybe at Ore Nells? In any event, I hope you all enjoy the conversation as much as we did!
People let me tell you about my Aunt Dawn, she's really cool! Another record for No Outlet...the eldest member of the Jule Family answers 20 questions and answers them with honesty and flair! We talk about the joys of growing up next to a Lumber Yard, The Rye Junior High School song, Scary teachers, inadvertently giving Grandmother Marijuana Brownies, joining the armed forces for a very specific reason, the timeless beauty of the big band sound, Spirits in the material world and one very specific way to ensure that you can get out of a Hammock among many other topics! I have been blessed with an amazing family and, more specifically, very cool and interesting Aunts and Uncles…Aunt Dawn is a living personification of that fact. I encourage everyone to incorporate her positive attitude into your life. Dawn is always laughing and in a good mood no matter what life throws her way. Thank you very much for being on the podcast Aunt Dawn, I hope you all enjoy the conversation as much as we did!
