One of my favorite people that I have ever worked with and I have worked with thousands of people. Steve Hlushuk (Shooky) is the epitome of a positive minded person and that is really so important in life. We worked together for about 5 years in the early 2000's and he was always happy, sharp and one of the funniest dudes I have ever met. We discuss Bigfoot losers, his cool as shit car, the difference of a positive attitude, his favorite cocktail, his proficiency in JD Edwards, being a good parent in a challenging world, Osteogenesis imperfecta and how it does not slow him down! and how he was WAY ahead of his time with short "Tic-Toc-ish" videos (There is still time to go viral!!) along with several other topics and maybe even a Robert De Niro impersonation...little bit? Thank you very much for being on the Podcast and I hope you all enjoyed the conversation as much as we did!
It finally happened! The Elusive BVW made an appearance on the No Outlet Podcast and what an appearance it was! We talked about selling T-Shirts door to door to afford Spring Break, Bad Beer, Scratch Tickets, The Power of Positive Thinking, The Brilliance of David Letterman, The CASA MAYA, doing Ecstasy in Nantucket (allegedly!) and Gonzaga among many other topics. Brian is a good man and he was a great roommate who always pulled more than his weight and was way ahead of the game with Fine Dining and Music. Hopefully (if the stars align) we can hook up this summer when he is back in Maine. I mean, I would call it a long shot but so was this podcast appearance! Sincere thanks for being on the show and I hope you all enjoy the conversation as much as I did!
Wow. Sometimes 20 questions is not nearly enough...I could have asked him 200 but some are not suitable for air. We have known each other for over 35 years and had some amazing times together. The best part is that he sounds and IS the exact same way he was all those years ago. Folger is a great American and I am looking forward to seeing him and his lovely wife live and in person. We talked about The Prince of Fowl air, Fake ID fails, Getting an "A" on a story never read, seeing Martians in Rye, How stains can ruin someone's day, running for student government, the majesty of Jimmy Page/Led Zep, being an unutilized Certified Bartender and of course "proven science" among many other topics. The time went quick and I realized how many more questions we could have discussed...maybe we will get to a few this summer. Thank you for being on the Podcast and I hope you all enjoy the conversation as much as I did!
Once you're a Jet, you're a Jet all the way. Well this was another first...or a series of firsts...say "firsts" 5 times fast. First in studio podcast, first Trip Report, First actual studio audience (with a real Q&A session) and the First time utilizing new dual microphone technology. The audio is a little funky but it does not take away from the quality of the report and now we know a little more about recording with two mics than we did before. Yea Progress! Amelia, Matt and I talked about Their recent trip to Puerto Rico and we learned that the highways are nicer that in Saugus Massachusetts, Lizards are everywhere, the truth about Trustafarians, Amelia still does not know Spanish, Jet Blue is still better than Spirit...even with the perils of a Rogue Vomit bag rolling all over you at 35,000 feet, Matt and Amelia would be good on the Amazing Race and the surprising fact that they did not bring home a dog...yet. Truly groundbreaking and some of the most fun I have had making an episode. After the mics were turned off, the conversation continued and we learned even more. You should check out Amelia's podcast Amelia News Network and check out Matt's seriously impressive travel video editing skills here: https://youtu.be/pehkdQhzp4k Thank you so much for coming on the show and I hope you all enjoy the conversation as much as we did!
Another First on the no Outlet Podcast...the First Fitness Coach ever on the show and what an amazing conversation we had. This woman has done so many things with so many more to go! We talked about dating European Soccer players, the stupidity of extreme dieting, the bullshit wage gap between males and females, the power of female business owners, the joys of moving, being crazy enough to want to run a 50 mile race, non traditional high schools and why Alcohol is better than Sushi. My only regret is that I did not make her do her pushups at the end but I am certain that she was sandbagging her number and could have ripped them off no problem. She really is a cool person and a great coach who makes burpees fun...if you want to get a few sessions in here is her website: https://coachlizaduddy.com/ it is a highly recommend use of time as a human. No Outlet Approved! Sincere thanks to Coach Liza for coming on the show and I hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did!
We did it! Another first on the No Outlet podcast...three people at once and it worked out fine! So nice to hear Ingrid, Amanda and Alysa again...miss you three! We talked about Music, Examples of advice given during a break up, real world benefits of Improv Classes, the mystery of Saturday Morning Cartoons, My ineptitude at playing a musical instrument and parenting in the digital age among many other topics. Thank you very much for being on the show and I am looking forward to the next class with these great people. I hope everyone enjoys the conversation as much as I did...enjoy!
Fun people are fun! No matter where they are or what they are doing and these two are among the most fun you will ever meet! We talked about Snacks, Not being "that person", bad inventions, the blizzard of 78, best concerts, who is the better cook and we clear up a rumor about Amy going on tour with Fleetwood Mac among several other topics. Thank you so much for being on the podcast, I hope you all enjoyed the conversation as much as we did!
Smart, thoughtful, precise, helpful and funny! All qualities that this guest brought to the table on the No Outlet Podcast. Todd is a solid dude, couldn't have sold my house without his generous support and home improvement acumen. A Black Belt in fixing things and I have yet to find a topic that is is not aware of and have an opinion on. I would call him a true renaissance man...Successful Career, amazing family man, likes to stay fit, have fun and also has a spiritual side that has manifested into "Kokoro" (look it up, you heard it here first). We discussed getting hit at 14,000 feet, Skiing injuries, Paying attention in high school, riding your bike 1000 miles from Oregon to San Fran, The Rocky Horror Picture show, angry coffee tables and the worst time for a Hurricane to come through Southern Maine. Open and direct answers are the hallmark of this chat and I hope you all enjoy the conversation as much as I did. Thank you Todd for being on the show!
Once a cool/fun person, always a cool/fun person...Kym is the best! Not only did we get a chance to reminisce about growing up in Rye but she reminded me of many things I had forgotten about. A true trip down memory lane! We talked about Greg The Ghost, The Awesome Power of Diva Stuff (go check it out!), The fact that their house was a Noah's Arc of creatures (they had a Monkey!), How hard teaching is, The Similarities between The Kardashians and her family, Mr. Stevens and avoiding politics among many other topics! So much fun, thank you thank you thank you for being on the show!. I hope you all enjoy the conversation as much as we did!
WOW! They are record setters and such a good team! Honestly two of the nicest kids you could ever meet and they both have they own unique personalities and both have extremely bright futures...if I could invest in them as a stock I would! We talked about Gaming, Doing Wheelies, How great their family is, going back to school, their carnivorous pet, the outrageous laugh of Coo-Coo and highly advanced spy techniques that fool adults among many other topics. Very excited to be able to grab some time in their busy schedule and I hope you enjoy these two as much as I do. Thank you for coming on the show guys!
