What a team! What a Team! A first for the No Outlet podcast...the first dual interview and what an interview it was! Paul and Jean have been married for 53 years and are such amazing people. Warm, funny, smart and always up for a laugh...hit the pay button for proof! We talked about Booze, Bad Boat Names, Teaching 30,000 kids about manners/how to ballroom dance, Hummer & Strummer, choosing Sudbury, Steven Tyler from Aerosmith and taking young children to Tijuana among many other topics! They made it easy for me and were very forthright and direct with their answers all while laughing at the absurdity of the situation. In all seriousness, they are really special people and I think we can all learn something from how they have raised their family and how they live their life...Bon Vivant! This guy is truly one of a kind...a renaissance man for the 21st century. Erik Klinger has never really cared what anyone thought about what he liked or what he did...he just found what made him happy and did it. Something that is really missing in todays world...we need more Klingers! Wait, not sure about that but I have really enjoyed being his friend for the past 40 years. We discuss quantum physics, the free market, pot edibles, East Coast vs West Coast, Skiing, Drinking too much at an early age and his very understanding parents among several other topics. His willingness to honestly and fearlessly state his strong opinion is what I was hoping for and he did not disappoint! Real live talent on the No Outlet Podcast folks! We were lucky enough to have Charles Van Eman on the show tonight and he brought his 40 years of acting, writing and coaching experience to our podcast. We talked about Spinal Tap and how Harry Shearer is a chocolate fiend, Hangin with the Hof/Pam Anderson on the Baywatch set, Helen Hunt, Live music, the fake news of awards never received, not smoking butts, Saving nine with a stitch in time and (of course) the Actors Studio of Newburyport! I was lucky enough to meet Charlie at an Improv class a little over a year ago and it has been such a rewarding and fun experience. Where do I start? John is such a great guy and has been for as long as I have known him. Funny, smart, generous and always up for a laugh. We talked about Bartering to pay off a bar tab in Mexico, my mom saving him from getting in a fight, misconceptions about Australians, School Uniforms, angry roommates and how he used to train alongside the most decorated Female Olympian from the US among several other topics. John was kind enough to spend some time with No Outlet early on a Sunday morning...TIME TRAVEL FOLKS...it's real. No matter how much time passes between our talks, we always effortlessly pick up right where we left off and can talk about anything. 40 years is a long time. Jay and I have been friends for 40 years and he really is the same guy I knew when I was 11 years old, fun, funny and always up for a laugh. We talked about Fantasy Football, Suntan Lotion, Cartoons, Growing up in Rye NH, sea monsters and he even threw in a few impersonations among many other topics broached. When Football is back, we will have to do a FF specific show as (dark lord or not) he knows how to maneuver through the maze of a Fantasy Football season. Blair and I went to college together and have been friends ever since, very happy for her to join us on the show. We talk about faking parents out through high level teenage deception, classic rock bands, parenting, push ups, social media, women earning less then men, reincarnation and making stupid decisions. She handled all 20 questions like she handles most things in life, with a calm, cool demeanor and a Smirk/chuckle. Very proud to be her friend of 30 years and it sounds like the list for the Jamaica trip just got one name longer! After 30 plus years I thought I knew everything about him, but I was wrong!
