If you're familiar with YouTube's Mother of Millennials, Jenna Marbles, then you probably have heard of the 'Too Much Gene'. She coined this term in her videos across the years, essentially describing a trait that makes you go all gas, no breaks at whatever you're working on, and emphasizes the 'more is more' approach.
(It does feel important to say here that it's not a real gene. Anyway...)
In this episode, Beth and Joyce share their experiences with the 'Too Much Gene', how they try to combat it, and why it may actually stem from chasing perfectionism.
From ruining artwork to buying far too many mini lanterns for one household, they discuss why we sometimes accidentally sabotage our work, how to come to terms with being 'good enough' and learn to sit with your imperfections, and why slow progress is still progress.
