CLR Show 1582. Air Date July 30, 2021. The untenability––and downright absurdity––of the far right's positions on masks, vaxing and the events of January 6 are becoming progressively more obvious. It takes very little imagination to forecast the irrelevancy of Donald Trump, very possibly before the midterms.
CLR Show 1581. Air Date July 28, 2021. The view from 50K feet shows the demise of Trump as kingmaker and the disillusionment of republican voters, boding poorly for their chances in the 2022 midterms. The reasons are evident and will become even more so as The House Select Committee on 1/6 hearings continue. Democrats must believe and act on their belief that America can evolve positively.
CLR Show 1580. Air Date July 26, 2021. We consider one view that holds January 6th marked the end of the Trump Era, and that all that has followed is little more than a collective tantrum by leaderless adolescents acting out their feelings of impotence, not the start of the 'real' insurrection.
CLR Show 1579. Air Date July 23, 2021. We know the republicans are lying. But our messaging must point out the intolerable specifics of those lies, and not encourage a passive 'Oh, well' acceptance of republican behavior––or the inevitability of mid-term 2022 democratic losses. With CLR Friday Co-Host, David Bach.
CLR Show 1578. Air Date July 21, 2021. The First Rule: 'You may not pass along the hurtful things that were passed on to you.' No sectarian requirements. If 15% of the world practiced it, war would become impossible, prisons would empty out and planetary unification would become inevitable.
CLR Show 1577. Air Date July 19, 2021. Part 3 of a 4-part series about the only rule we'll ever need to follow. Religious clergy across many denominations have the training and orientation to implement the positive effects of the rule, but are hampered by institutional boundaries and prerogatives. The rule can only work when institutional boundaries are substantially lowered.
CLR Show 1576. Air Date July 16, 2021. The second of three shows about the only rule humanity needs to follow, and its role in defeating the chronic hopelessness that threatens us as a species. Plus, CLR Friday Co-Host, David Bach.
CLR Show 1575. Air Date July, 14, 2021. Make no mistake. The Biden Administration will be defined, for better or worse, by its capacity to pass a meaningful John Lewis Voting Law. It's current behavior suggests democrats are ahead of the White House and Congress in demanding this legislation. Failure to produce it will result in severely diminished democratic commitment––not to mention the forfeiture of our constitutional democracy.
CLR Show 1574. Air Date July 12, 2021. Stepping away from pure politics for a bit: Why do we do what we do? Why do some choose to believe lies? What––and who––are we responsible for? What does it mean to be an 'energy being'? How are 'traits' passed along? What can and must we change? CLR begins a multi-part discussion of 'The First Rule'.
CLR Show 1573. Air Date July 9, 2021. Doom and gloom over our inability to beat the trumpians at their own grievance-saturated game should, instead, be a cause celebre for Progressives of every stripe. We have a vision of an evolving America, inexorably moving toward that more perfect union––plus the White House and the Congress. Trumpians have their fear and nothing more. With CLR Friday Co-Host, David Bach.
